Product Features

The tone of the Martin Standard Series D-28L Dreadnought Left-Handed Acoustic Guitar is what separates it from all other guitars. This left-handed version has a solid Sitka spruce top with glossy finish, special East Indian rosewood for the polished back and sides, and genuine ebony fingerboard and bridge. With its rich, resonant warmth and punchy volume, the Martin D-28 is particularly well-suited to music styles requiring loud, powerful rhythm accompaniment. Martin includes a deluxe hardshell guitar case and limited lifetime warranty with the Standard Series D-28L Dreadnought Left-Handed Acoustic.

Martin Dreadnought
The very first dreadnought guitars were designed and crafted by C. F. Martin & Co. in 1916, but marketed in Boston and New York exclusively under the Oliver Ditson brand. Originally made for Hawaiian slide playing style, the very first dreadnought made was a Model 222 shipped to Ditson in August of 1916. After Ditson went out of business in the early 1930s, Martin introduced the D-1 and D-2 dreadnoughts for standard playing style that would soon become Martin’s iconic D-18 and D-28 models. Over the past 100 years, the Martin dreadnought has helped define what an acoustic guitar can and should be, and subsequently, it has become one of the most popular acoustic guitar designs in the world.

over all this is a amazing guitar.
well so far so good, cant wait to hear how she souns after she starts to open up a bit more, these things do get better over time but that only applys to all solid wood guitars. if you have a laminate guitar your pretty much stuck with what you got and cant expect any improvment in tone over the years.

if you know any thing about the D-28s you know they are considered the standard in dreadnaut guitars, and i can understand why, the sound is full and rich, it definately has that classic martin sound that i was after. you really cant go wrong with one of these IMO

I also own other brands like taylor, is the martin any better than the taylor, No its not, but lots of people will cut down other brands. bottom line is that they are both very high quality guitars but very different in sound but sound excellent. there are many good guitars companys out there and it all comes down to finding the one that sounds best to your ear.
the thing is gerogious and the craftsmanship is pretty much top notch, the finish is super high gloss, you cant tell in the stock photo.
well i am not rating the value of this for one reason. this is allot of money for a piece of wood and i have no clue what it cost the factory to make one of these. but if you want a really good guitar its not cheep.
