.In 1997, when looking for a Martin dread, I played a Martin the store just received, a D-16TR that had the then new Martin SP (MSP4100) on it. Liked the tone a lot and bought it. I've pretty much have bought these strings ever since. Consistent over the years in tone. I play out a couple time a month and go to jams often. In the past 19 years I've had 2 strings break.
A nice clear tone, but they are a little bright when first installed, but they settle in after a few songs.
I highly recommend these strings. I usually buy them in the 12 pack during a sale here at MF. What a great deal! Give them a try!
