Product Features

This 3-voice guitar features electric and acoustic guitar sounds, plus the infinite tonal possibilities created by synth access. It has a gorgeous mahogany body with a AA-grade figured maple top. The mahogany neck has an ebony fingerboard that significantly improves synth tracking as compared to a rosewood fretboard. The custom RMC system provides acoustic guitar sounds from a bridge transducer, while Seymour Duncan custom humbuckers drive the electric tone. Synth access comes courtesy of the 13-pin connector for direct control of Roland GR Series and Axon AX100 guitar synths. Acoustic and electric outputs can be used alone or in tandem to further expand the tonal array.

Includes a gig bag.

The guitar came with a couple of small dings - though nothing to worry too much about. The flamed cap is nicely figured but was sanded too hard which led to micro depressions between the harder and softer (flamed) grains - this actually adds to the appeal as you get a tigered ripple effect in the Finnish. The neck pocket has formed a hairline crack in the year I have owned it - not a biggie. The routing where the strings let into the body are a little unevenly routed (looks like the body was hand pushed under a router on a jig rather than CNC'd. None of any of the cosmetic flaws would be noticeable to anyone Not scrutinously looking for them so Not a big deal. This guitar overall looks really nice.. Strapped on it has a weird retro contemporary Paul appeal.. Very nice. Playability It is lighter than a Les Paul, the neck is quite meaty yet very fast and and very comfortable. I can literally play this guitar for hours without wrist or strap fatigue. Sound... LOL... :o) ..Stunning... You can get just about any sound you want out of this guitar, the timbre, the tone and the sustain is just incredible, the pickups are not shreddingly hot but have nice bite and clarity. The tone control is the most variable I have found and allows you to dial in any type of sound you could want from heavy Gary Moore type rock to Soulful Joe Satriani tones to smooth sounding blues to jazz to a nice airy acoustic setting on pickup selector position number 4. The piezo bridge adds more sound variations and is highly adjustable to provide sounds from nylon to steel string guitars, you can even blend electric and Piezo outputs for even more tonal variations. Synth Tracking is nice and fast and With synth access you can make this guitar sound like a chorus of angels, a piano, violin, or group of be-bop singers if you want (requires additional Roland GR-20 hardware). Overall it's a beautiful thing.. If you are looking for a guitar that has visual Mojo, and the broadest sound spectrum on the market. This is the guitar you don't think twice about. Get it You won't be disappointed.

.I have had a GK-2A pickup on Strat #1 for years, but I've always felt that the bulky, outboard nature of the GK-2A took away from the Strat's aesthetic. I was planning to build a synth controller, but then I remembered Godin. I purchased an xt-SA but realized that I didn't like the middle single-coil or the tremolo bridge (synth tracking errors). I returned the xt-SA and ordered the LGX-SA. I now have the ULTIMATE GUITAR OF THE UNIVERSE!!!!

In fairness, I'd prefer to have the AAA flame top (unavailable at the time of post; the delivery time would be conflicting with an overseas move, so weighing the benefits / consequences). That aside, what an incredible guitar!

Even unplugged, it's sound is snappy and responsive. The combination of the mahogany neck / ebony fretboard is intoxicating, who knew? Build quality is top notch.

This guitar is capable of a bewildering array of sounds. I do not understand why more builders don't incorporate the modern features this guitar has, because I feel this is the evolution of the electric.

The electro-mag pickups, to my ear, are middle of the road, which allows them to play a variety of styles, without leaning towards a specific sound. In this way, it would be an incredibly versatile session guitar. For those familiar with the Strat five-way pickup switch, positions 2 & 4 make their respective pickups single coil, and the difference is subtile but noticeable if you listen closely. However, I don't feel like you could get an authentic Wes Montgomery tone out of it, but you could probably conjure any other sound from 1960 to the present, without giving it much thought.

The bridge transducers sound like a mic'd acoustic, which is completely acceptable solution for playing live. It is weird but fun playing an "acoustic" through a distorted amp.

Of course, my main goal is to drive synths. I had a hunch that bridge transducers would be a better choice than the GK-x series pickups; generally, I think I prefer the bridge transducers included here. They *are* much more sensitive, as they should, making direct contact with the strings. I think its only problem is spurious triggering of sounds with instant attack, such as piano; but I have zero interest triggering piano / chromatic percussion sounds with a guitar.

Beautifully crafted, solid feel, ridiculously versatile tone; this is now guitar #1, with most humble apologies to Sharkfin (an Explorer) and Best Friend Guitar (Strat, rosewood fingerboard, C-profile neck).

.As close to the perfect instrument I have ever come.
I played this guitar for the first time today and I was literally overcome with astonishment. Mixing the acoustic pickup with the Jazz pickups gave me the most dynamic clean tone I could ever hope for. The neck action is the best I have ever tried too. I've been a player since 1979 and the thing left me speechless.
The neck feels better than a pro shop neck. Nothing I have tried comes close.
I've seen this guitar compared to a Parker Fly. That's 10 grand versus two. You do the Math.

.Had it 1 year been playing 30 plus.Great setup/action out of box.Any 1 or combo's of output are great to use all 3 with PA/Roland GR20/Amp is more fun than you can believe also use a Boss 880 drum/Bass machine 5 inst. by myself totally nuts.I do solo recording and find this axe very handy. The beauty of the transparent blue is great. My 1 complaint is that it does not come with a hardshell case I would have paid extra for the option. If you like synth buy it tracking is excellant.
