Product Features

Eko guitars gained high popularity during the rock'n'roll craze of 1960s, becoming the largest guitar exporter in Europe. Their acoustic models were popular in country and folk rock bands of the late '60s.

Now EKO is back in the US with a great line of guitars that follows the same high quality manufacturing methods used in Italy in the 1960's.

The Ranger Vintage XII is the best selling European guitar of all time, with around 200,000 instruments (including 6 and 12-string models) sold to date since 1964. The reissue version has the screwed bolt-on neck assembly. The Ranger is renowned for its hardy reliability. The action is easily regulated, due to the screwed-on neck and by the adjustable aluminium saddle at the bridge. The slender neck is easy to play. The resonance is more subtle compared to today's guitars with glue-fixed necks and spruce tops, but the quality of the sound is truly remarkable. The Ranger has inspired some of today's top luthiers and still remains a reference guitar for its construction, style and acoustic characteristics.

A faithful reissue of the most famous guitar that EKO has ever produced, with laminated spruce top and mahogany back and sides, and the exclusive bolt-on system and height adjustable bridge, which offers comfortable, low action. The satin finish looks very contemporary and gives the instrument a very open and balanced sound.

Since it was established in 1959, has been committed to serve and assist musicians, disregarding skills or celebrity.

Due to Oliviero Pigini’s () forward looking attitude, EKO was famous as the biggest guitar factory in Europe, with almost half a million guitars coming out yearly from their factories. From 1959 to 1985 EKO was shipping – from Italy and from their European factories - to all major countries in the world. Because of its stylish look, its good quality, as well as its good prices; entire generations were introduced to music. At the same time many professionals chose to play EKO guitars and still continue to do so during their performances. In 1985 the production has been moved to factories outside Europe, joint-ventures were established in China and Czech Republic. Although all EKO guitars, basses and amplifiers are manufactured in these countries, R&D is done in Italy. Offices and labs are located inside our headquarters near Recanati.

Quality starts with intelligent design that supports sound and playability. Every aspect of the design process of this fine guitar balances structural needs with the outcome in balance and feel. There is no point in having a great sounding guitar if it is too heavy to play on stage or awkward to maneuver .
