After close examination of the guitar, it is as pretty up close as in photos. However, while it is beautiful on the surface, it is really poorly made. I base this on the Celebrity series I have owned for nearly 10 years. It is also a 12 String Ovation, and among other things, it has 3 ply binding, the new Elite has 2, the Celebrity has very large mother of pearl fret inlays, this Elite has very small, the Celebrity appears to have a better bridge. Inside of the this Elite there is evidence of very sloppy workmanship. I had to adjust the neck on receipt as the high E strings rattled at Frets 1-9, even though it bore a tag that it was setup and playable. Bottom line is this guitar that was expected or hoped to be an upgrade to my 10 year old guitar is not even it?s equal, even though it is advertised and priced to be a level superior to the Celebrity. .I have owned this guitar for 8 years now. I've done hundreds of shows with it. Full 4 Hr sets with this baby. The onboard electronics keep it easy to keep in tune. I have had no issues, it's a beautiful piece. I have beat the tar out of it, and it gets better with age. I have only played 2 other models of 12 strings, this model is by far the best.
