i was debating about this cabinet for about a week, reading reviews, playing it with different heads, playing different cabinets, and the valve king cabinet just seems to hold up. excellent everything, i play death metal, like the faceless, suffocation, necrophagist, and other tech death metal bands. it performs in every respect. just get it, and shred away with no worrries..I bought this cab to go with my Valve King and it is a perfect match. It will handle Anything that amp will throw at it! From crystal clean to down and dirty doesn't miss a beat. Casters great don't bind, handles real sturdy, only drawback I've found was the plastic hardware holding your input jacks are fragile. I'm going to replace them with a steel jack plate which will solve the problem. Other than that, great cabinet. Thanks Custom Guitars Friend.
.As in one other post when I unboxed it there were two casters torn off by someone other than me? However being able to think on the run I just straitend the mounting plate of the casters and the reattached all four with larger diameter wood screws, all fixed. The ValveKing speakers are up to the task of cleans, mids and driving lows. The cabinet would be a lot friendlier if it were switcable for stereo and different ohm settings as the head is ohm switchable. For a cabinet with no bells and whistles, the sound and speaker quality are true Peavey all the way, meaning when you plug it up it is gonna play. I've got a vintage Peavey Classic 100 amp and 4x10 cab thats probably 16 years old and still cooks like it is supposed to. I feel that this new VK cab will more than likely do the same. The main reason for me buying the VK head and cab is the tight sound from high to low and tank like longivity. For me it rates a good overall.
.I've had this cabinet for almost two years now and have been pretty gentle with it, but have taken it on the road several times. The casters are great and have never bound up or came loose on me and the sound has not deteriorated. However, the plastic piece that fastens the inputs on the back have both broken on me simply by a small tug on the cable
.I have had the Valveking cabinet for about a year now, and I am still very pleased with it. I use a Marshall AVT50H head, DOD eq, Alesis 3630 compressor, and I play an ESP Viper 400 with EMG active 81 85 pickups, it sounds amazing! This cab is loud and 400w capacity is nice to have. I know this is a small detail and soes not effect the sound but, the handels are round bars and not that half round type shape that kills your fingers when you carry it around, that is a plus in my book. Also it is fairly light weight I carry it up and down my stairs all the time. I recomend this cab to everybody that asks me what cab they shoud get. The price is right on this beast, a very nice budget cab if you ask me.
.Great sounding cab!!! I'm using a Vox Custom Classic Head and it sounds absolutely amazing! I could not be happier with the sound I'm getting from this combination. Great Value!
.This puppy handles my VTM 120 with ease, better than the original celestion cab I got back then! It even sounds better than my Marshall 1960A, and it's half the price! Get this monster, you won't regret it!!
.I played this cab using a mesa dual rec, and also tried the dual rec through an oversized mesa cabinet. I was blown away, not only did the cab beg for more volume, it held the lows perfect, just as good as the mesa was holding them. It's all around an amazing cabinet for the money, you won't be let down, just try it! (or buy it!)
.Well I just got the valveking head and I was thinking about a cab for weeks before I got the cab I was thinking marshell or mesa (woulda had so save money) so I went to my local music store and they had some cabs I plugged in to the valveking head to the valveking cab it was loud I mean WOW!! It was like on 3 and it was over powering everything I was like GEEZZ!!! If you don't know what cab to get get this one you will be so proud of yourself trust me.
.I originally bought this cab to go along with my vk112 to be able to fill up bigger venues. After the transformer blew in my vk i bought a Peavey 6505+ and this cab goes great with it. The bass is nice and tight not loose or flabby the highs cut through just fine!
