The Peavey PV115D is a powered, two-way, sound reinforcement speaker system engineered to provide very high levels of performance in a compact powered loudspeaker. The PV115D is capable of generating peak SPL up to 121 dB. The lightweight yet rugged carpet covered enclosure with stand mount cup facilitates portable use for live music or PA sound. The trapezoidal cabinet has steel handles on either side for ease of portability, and four rubber feet for floor use, while a stand-mount adaptor on the bottom allows for easy speaker stand mounting. Black steel corners provide road protection to the cabinet. A black full-length powder-coated perforated steel grille provides driver protection and a professional appearance.
The PV115D speaker system includes an internal power amp to drive its own speakers, as well as an amplifier output jack to drive another (passive) loudspeaker system. It supplies up to 400 watts peak available power to the internal speakers, and up to 400 watts peak available power to an external 8 ohm speaker system, for a total of 800 watts peak available power. The amplifier is equipped with DDT compression, providing protection from excessive amplifier clipping and the consequent distortion. A balanced input to the preamp/EQ electronics consists of one combo female XLR and 1/4" TRS phone jack. A Contour switch provides some bass and treble lift when used as a background music source, etc. A Link Out 1/4" phone jack provides a pre-level send for linking multiple units together, to be controlled by a single volume control at a master unit.
A loudspeaker with unparalleled performance and value.

Ok partially my fault for buying an open box item but when it says Mint you would expect just that. As soon as I got it off the ups truck plugged it in plugged in mic power light on no sound tried another mic and cable nothing. You would think they would have checked it before selling it. There was no damage during shipping. Now I get to wait 7 days to ship it back and get a refund. then I can buy another, thats the best they can do at MF. I can buy it elsewhere and get better service. Bye MF ill spend my money elsewhere.Peavey PV 115D 15" Powered Speaker

.The beast is heavy but it is awesome. I needed something with multiple inputs but I have a mixer so I ended up getting this since it has no effects and could just amplify the sound that was coming out of my mixer.
The thing is killer and I ever got a a cheaper used on and its great. Highly recommend it.

.Not much power for a "400" watt powered speaker, clips real easy also, do youself a favor and get a better powered speaker, or power amp and speaker combo.

.I really don't know what's up with guys saying this speaker is heavy. Lol one handed carry for most adults. I easily put it on top of a fully extended speaker stand by myself. Best thing is the sound is solid and powers another speaker. I use it to power an older passive SP2 rated for 300w that sounds great but is huge(maybe that is why the new speaker seems light) I plan on buying a second to power my other SP2 as well and have a really good inexpensive system. It would power their sub that is rated for 400w as well because it has a crossover to shed the frequencies it doesn't need. My partner in a duo has K12s and they are some better and lighter but honestly no audience will notice or care about the difference. These don't sound cheap. I wish the 12" version powered a passive speaker too. That would be more useful for covering vocals and guitar, but this does the trick nicely. I'm not positive, but it seems Peavey rates their speakers for the real world as this 400w speaker keeps up with most that are rated as twice the power. Two of these pushing two passive cabs is a good deal of air moving for medium clubs. I highly recommend and have been at it for over 30 years now.

A little heavy if you are going to be lugging it around but I'm sure it will take some road abuse and keep performing..........Peavey PV 115D 15" Powered Speaker
.I use the pv115d and the pv115 for little neighborhood dj/kj parties and downtown street karaoke events (just for fun) and they are really really loud and very clear. (More speaker than I really needed) but I got them at a good deal. These are excellent speakers for any venue, outdoors or indoors.

.Great sound and value, but they are heavy. I had to send one back to Peavey, because it was too far to nearest service center, but they repaired it under warranty and sent it back in about 2.5 weeks. Great customer service. The sound quality is excellent especially if you don't have to move them around much due to weight. The awesome thing about these is that it has a separate amp section that will power a passive speaker without any loss to the internal speakers. Its like getting 2 powered speakers for 1.

.I am astonished at the quality and sound of this speaker. Peavey is miles ahead of any other manufacturer by offering a second internal amp for an external speaker without sacrificing power to the the internal. If you want great bass and plenty of crisp highs go for it. It's heavy but that' why the sound is so great. It gives me the sound that I am used to without having to bring the 80lb rack. Peavey stuff is still built to last. I will be getting a second one soon.
