The RBN 112 produces audiophile-quality highs and tight, deep lows thanks to Peavey’s unique ribbon tweeter and neodymium Scropion main driver. Traditional compression drivers can’t match the smooth, clear audio produced by the RBN 112, which boasts onboard DSP with EQ presets for customizable sound. Built to withstand heavy use, this rugged workhorse is ultra-reliable, and features an internal temperature monitor combined with a variable-speed cooling fan to ensure optimal performance.
The secret weapon of the RBN 112 is Peavey's world-class ribbon driver. Used in studio environments for decades, Peavey has developed a method for applying this high-quality sound technology to live applications. The result is unwavering, crystal-clear audio even at high volumes.
To match the incredible high-frequency performance from the ribbon driver, the RBN 112 is fitted with dual-voice coil neodymium Scorpion speakers which feature Peavey' exclusive field replaceable basket technology. Driven by 1500 watts of pure Class D power, the 12 in. woofer delivers deep, rich bass with an amazing punch.
Incorporating modern digital signal processing, the RBN 112 features two XLR/1/4 in. combination inputs, a 3.5 mm input, and a mic/line level selection. Each input features digital infrasonic high-pass filters, a 9-band graphic EQ, and delay.

I had a pair of these for just over a month now. At first I wasn't impressed. I started off using the built in pre set EQ's with my phone plugged directly in......those presets aren't that great at all. After I plugged the speakers into my Midas board and made my own EQ curve, then I was very impressed. I've never experienced ribbon tweeters before....I always read that they are "smooth" sounding.....that is definitely a good way to describe the sound. (as long as you skip using those presets). I've done a few shows with these so far. I can say that they cant handle much sub bass type stuff, but that's not what they are made for! But these speakers do get loud and stay clear and throw the sound out a long ways as well. These speakers seem to work best in a larger room (a room bigger than my two stall garage that I first tested em in). I've owned lots of peavey gear over the years and it all still works, so I'm hoping/expecting this product to do the same. My only complaint, which becomes pretty much irrelevant in a live/loud setting, is that the fans are a bit noisy.... they sound like they are working overtime the minute you turn them on. I would guess this is just Peaveys effort to make sure the power amp stays cool so it will live longer. A second complaint, even thought these speakers look aesthetically pleasing, is that the fit and finish could be better. In my case, the molded plastic speaker box has some rough edges. Its not a big deal, I'm just compulsive. I would buy these again if they prove to be a reliable as all my other peavey gear.Peavey RBN 112 Ribbon Enclosure
