Been playing guitar for 43 years, mostly classic rock/oldies, and for the last 10 years in the contemporary Christian band at my church. I've had more guitars and amps over the years than I can remember. I bought the Envoy 110 two years ago after hip replacement surgery. I found I could no longer lift the old Crate amp I'd had for years and figured it was time to replace it.After my recovery, I went to all the local music stores and "lifted" many amps. After doing that, I plugged in my guitar and started playing through the amps I could comfortably lift. When I played through the Envoy 110 I was impressed with how loud it could get for it's size. I put the selector switch on 'Vintage' and knew I had found the amp for my new situation. I use a pedal board and therefore only the clean channel of the amp. I have to say the Envoy 110's clean channel is great! The amp has no problem taking my pedal board and making it shine. My church band has a very 'enthusiastic' drummer, even so my 110 can be heard very clearly. I am very pleased with the sound, performance and 'stage presence' of my Peavey Envoy 110. I needed a lightweight amp that sounded good and could be heard in a band situation. This fills the bill. I did make one modification. I replaced the speaker with an Eminence Redcoat 10" and the sound came alive to my ears. Also, the Line Out feature was necessary, as our head soundman at church is opposed to micing amps. .I have been playing guitar for 43 years. I have owned ton's of gear. If you are looking for a great sounding amp for recording and smaller venues you will not find anything that approaches the sound and feel of this thing for less than 3X as much. I am very familiar with the newer modeling amps out there (and have owned many) as well as tube amps from all eras. What Peavey has done with this new Transtube series is magical. It is Soooooooo dynamic and responsive to play on the clean channel- I prefer it to ANYTHING I own, tube or not. It is more "Tube like" than most tube amps. With some knob tweeking, the lead channel can be set up nicely as well. An as far as bargins go, this is OFF THE MAP stupid cheap for the tone and feel you get. My only gripe is I wish it had a bit more power but the line out sounds great through a board. I would guess that the bigger Bandit 112 would be a better choice forlouder gigs but for recording- OMG! This just blows away almost anything. It is the BEST non-tube amp I have ever played and better than most of the tube amps I have owned!!!! For 35 years people have been trying to get solid state amps to sound and feel like tube amps. Some have gotten close but no cigar. This just nails it. .Before I found the Envoy, I hauled around a Fender Deluxe Reverb to amplify my telecaster and em-159, which, when the tubes were fresh, sounded wonderful, but it 'bout drove me crazy when the tubes began to age, because the sound would change from the beginning of the gig and the end, and I'd know it's time to replace tubes.
With Transtube gear, I'll never have to deal with this issue, and since buying my Envoy, I've had the pleasure of that fresh tubes tone everytime I turn the amp on! Love it!
I have bought a few different versions of the Envoy (and Bandit), and find the "Red Line" series suits me best...the Envoy is plenty loud enough, on a amp stand and mic'd into the PA. Only thing I miss from the Deluxe Reverb is that sweet Fender Tremolo, but I've found a pedal that gives me an acceptable alternative.
I replaced the Blue Marvel speaker with a Jensen MOD50-10, but that's not saying that the BM is, in any way, lacking, but that I just like the Jensen a little better.

I had this amp for a few years now, and the speaker is already blown. I didn't even put it on 7 and it blew the speaker. I'm going get another speaker or amp. The distortion is not really good enough to use live, and the effects aren't really good either. .My third envoy and everyone stopped working. I like the sound of the amp that is why I stuck with the peavey envoy but I can't continue with an amp that is not reliable.

.This amplifier is a great value. There's no other solid-state amplifier that sounds this good, is as quiet and has a simulated speaker line-out!! This is a high quality, "all-around" amplifier. Effects through this amp sound very clear, warm and articulate. Though I don't use the distortion channel (I use outboard effects), it sounds great. The different tonal options are great for ANY type of music. I prefer the "warm" setting on the clean channel using outboard effects. The simulated speaker line-out is great for playing shows where the sound engineer doesn't want open mics on stage. It reproduces the sound of the amp very well with no added "hiss" in the P.A. For the money, the sound quality and the power (40W), it's an awesome amp! And no, I don't work for Peavey.

.I own an older Bandit Transtube that I love and I picked this amp up hoping for a more portable package with similar tone. It doesn't really have the same sound although it is decent. Reverb is electronic, not spring. For a forty watt amp, it seems a bit breathless when used for light gigs. I also wonder if the speaker is going to make it -even at half volume it sounds precarious. It is light and it is relatively inexpensive, but I think I would have been happier elsewhere.

.Bought this amp simply for home practice to play my fender strat through, then found it has a very nice clean sound that the Line 6 i play through at my church can't compare to. I will be switching to my Peavy at church ASAP and buying another one soon. Only gripe, I would rather it had individual channel reverb control. But other than that this is a GREAT amp for the price.

.The only downfall to this amp is that there is no effects loop. The line out works wonderful and mixed with a mic input though the mixer, you can really get some nice sound.
