The Peavey MAX 100W bass amp is probably the best amp you can get at this price. High wattage is a must in my book - you cannot get adequate volume for any performance without it. This amp can definitely hold its own and then some. The controls are easy to understand, and it gives great punch, ample volume to rock out a gig, and great tonal quality. It is built tough, with metal corners and a metal grill guarding the speaker. The kick-back design is indispensable. Some features I appreciate are the separate gain and volume controls, mid shift control, passive and active inputs, accurate tuner, and the psycho-acoustics technology (which really does add to the depth/richness of the tone).Only two things did not entirely meet my satisfaction. I feel the knobs could have been better quality - they look cool, but are made of plastic - if you do not abuse them, they should be fine. Secondly, when I took the amp out of the box, I found a large sticker on the lower right hand corner of the speaker grill stating the name/features of the amp. Unfortunately, it was VERY sticky and would not come off without a lot of work. No one wants white residue on the front of a brand new amp. The same info on the sticker was on the box - in my mind the sticker served no purpose but to frustrate the owner. I finally got all signs of it off without any damage. I would recommend you remove the majority of the sticker by hand, then remove the excess by rubbing it off with masking tape.
The Peavey is above and beyond what I hoped it would be. As I stated before, this is the best buy in this price range. Go for it - you won't regret it.
Peavey MAX 110 II 1x10 100W Bass Combo Amp
.Peavey has done a great job with these amps. A 10" speaker with a 100 watts behind it. This amp is portable and works great in our small church house. Our building will seat around 110 at most. We are playing church music so we are not "thrashing" the bass, just simple bass lines and runs, but it is plenty loud for us.
Also the sound is deep and rich.
Peavey MAX 110 II 1x10 100W Bass Combo Amp
.This amp was a great surprise. I believe Peavey has hit a home run with all the features that it includes. The amp is a little heavy at 35 LBS, but it is quite deep (as deep as some 15" cabs), so i can live with the extra weight. For the price there isn't anything out there that comes even close. It's quite LOUD too. The kickback feature really enhances the projection of its sound. As for the Psycho-Acoustic feature,it really works. Very decent low end is produced.

.In this price range the Peavey MAX 110 cannot be beat. I use this mostly for playing in a church praise band and it has plenty of power for that. I have also used this amp in small venues. The amp not only has power, but a rich tone brought about by Peavey's Transtube technology. As with all of Peavey's products, this amp is sturdy and can take whatever you can dish out.
If you are on a budget and looking for a good bass amp, you can't go wrong with the Peavey MAX.
Peavey MAX 110 II 1x10 100W Bass Combo Amp
.Peavey has the sound/tone deal all sewn up in this one. 100 watts with a 10" speaker adds up to tight, useable power for practice and smaller venues. Great price too.
Peavey MAX 110 II 1x10 100W Bass Combo Amp
.Bought this amp because I liked the wattage, and I thought the addition of a chromatic tuner was cool. I have owned Peavey products in the past and although the sound is not boutique they are usually a good bang for the buck. As soon as I plugged this amp in I knew something wasn't right. To be fair this was a "used amp" and as such the price was reduced.Immediately repackaged the amp and got a return authorization. So I paid a little more money for the same model amp new.Long story short the new amp exhibited the same symptoms. Sent it back and ordered another brand amp. Custom Guitars Friend CS was excellant.

.I am getting old and this amp is great but a little hard to carry. That should not stop you from getting it, even if you are a geezer. Perhaps it will keep me around a little longer carrying it to small gigs and teaching. It is a great amp for the money. Once in a while i sub as bass player at little local gigs with students. For local stuff it is great. My professional real bass playing friends liked it too. Works for my little world... thanks peavey.
Peavey MAX 110 II 1x10 100W Bass Combo Amp
.For the money, I would recommend this amp to anyone looking for an affordable piece of gear you could use for gigs, or just playing around the house. It has amazing sound quality and is well built.
Peavey MAX 110 II 1x10 100W Bass Combo Amp
.Four stars out of 5. Could have been five stars except for the kind of unstable feel of the potentiomenters shafts. The knobs feel kind of fragile too. They got so close to make this amp perfect.

.This was a gift for my wife and she was super imperssed with this amp. Understand she is critical with everything we buy and is nicknamed the Rreturn Queen". Enough said!
