We use this for small bars and coffee house gigs where its compact size and simplicity are welcome. Most of the gigs available nowadays seem to be smaller venues for duos or solo acts. This little PA (with a pair of lightweight passive neodymium speakers) does a great job for those.It sets up in two minutes; one power outlet, two speaker cables, and a minute of adjustments... we're up and running.
It sounds fine for the low-volume vocals and acoustic guitar stuff we do. I would not expect to use this with a drummer and amplified bass. At low volumes, the quality is clear, intelligible, articulate. Simple reverb with one knob is OK.
Really love how quick and easy the tear-down is at the end of the gig too.
We get done, and the whole rig (speakers, stands, cables, mics) fits in two boxes that go in the back of a toyota sedan. We literally get packed in less than five minutes.
Been using it for 6 months, no problems.

.Nice compact unit with enough power to handle small rooms and clubs. The reverb is more like a cheap echo effect and the eq leaves much to be desired. The knobs and sliders have a cheap feel about them as if they will snap off at any time. Overall it should be adequate for my needs but leaves me unimpressed for a Peavey. While I would recommend to a friend, I would do so with many qualifications.

.Nice amp. Detachable AC cord is nice, no need to try to be dragging a cord behind you when transporting. This has complete control over your tone because of the individual channel Hi's and Lo's and the Main band EQ. Nice. LED's pump as you play showing any clip or distortion. Nice. The input plug on each channel is the new plug that accepts either 1/4" plug or Lo Z prong plug. Nice. What's NOT nice is that Peavey advertises this with "Reverb." It's NOT reverb. It's a bad slapback/echo with it's own set echo speed. You can only adjust the amount. I think there's a big difference between echo and reverb and I think this is deceptive. For the price this is a nice 4 channel amp if you already have some speakers. The 5th channel accepts your CD player or other sources. Run it dry or with the strange echo. It's worth the money. I gave it 5 stars, but the Peavey company gets NO stars for the deceptive advertising.

.This unit functions well.Loud enough .EQ'S are adequate. Dropped the ball on the reverb tho.Would consider out board reverb or delay if you need it . Great as I sing in a duo so don't need more than 4 channels. Control knobs are very flimsy so handle with care.If your on a budget I would recommend.

.I wanted an amp that would be easy to carry up and down stairs. At 15 pounds, the PV5300 fits that requirement nicely. With a 10" Kustom speaker, a mic stand, guitar and gig bag it is easily done in two trips.
It has clean sound without hum. I usually play a room that is about 40' x 50' and this amp covers adequately.
The PV5300 is rated at 200 watts -- but what does that mean? Prior to buying I searched for further definition on the web but found none. The manual that came with the amp explained it thoroughly: 200 watts = 100 watts peak x 2 outputs. The RMS rating is half, or 50 watts per output. But that is into a 4 ohm speaker, while 8 ohms yields just 30 watts. So the way I often use it with a single 8 ohm speaker results in a 30 watt RMS system. BUT IT IS ENOUGH! If the specs had been published, I might have passed up this capable amp. I'm glad I bought it.

.Actually, first off, MF was excellent in their service & first rate in getting the PV 5300 to me. I was in a bind. My rig had died on me and a gig coming up. A singer/songwriter, it is imperative to have the sound smooth and accurate. Well, I can say that the 5300 fit the bill. AND it arrived in time time rehearse and prepare for the show! Thanks Guys! While it is compact and plenty of power for small venues as well as my home studio, I found the reverb a little lacking. That said, my Harmony GT-X covers that brilliantly(also bought through MF!)One other annoyance was the lack of an on/off indicator. But, it is NOT a deal breaker. I love the 5 band equalizer. It is a great asset. Wish it had a true 5th channel, but once again, I can work around that. As this little unit packs a good punch and saved this cat's gig.

.I have had this for a year or 2 now, and I have not been very happy with it. The mute all channel button broke from normal use. The reverb is so bad, it does sound like a cheap eco effect. I will not continue to use this amp/mixer. I love peavey, but they messed up with this mixer.
