I purchased this for a backup because we had been having a few issues with our older model Peavey powered mixer. You can do without a lot of things at a gig but, the PA is not one of them. We tried this out at a gig soon after the purchase and, it performed excellent!! The first thing I noticed was the weight, much lighter and, the size was smaller too. All the functions of the older powered mixer but, with some really nice new features. I'm not going into all of them, as they are listed in the description. I have always used Peavey gear for PA, it's Great dependable and, affordable equipment built for the working musician. I had our older powered mixer repaired for a very nominal fee so now we travel with a backup that will give us the insurance of always having a Great PA at our disposal. Thanks Peavey for always keeping the working musician in mind. Highly recommend this unit to anyone looking for a compact, light weight powered mixer. .i use it for karaoke and dj music and the XR-s is amazing. i think 1500 watts might be underrated, it's got a lot more power than the 1200 watt Peavey i replaced. the extra channels of eq really help dial things in, this unit has the best sound quality of any of the portable powered mixers i have tried( and i've tried them all) it sounds like a full size studio mixer. the reverb is a little weak, but i don't use that effect much doing karaoke in a cowboy bar or doing dj music at weddings. the bluetooth is going to save me tons of time, instead of me having to organize song sets for customers, they can customize their own song lists on their phones.

.I have used Peavey equipment for many years and always had good use from the equipment.
We had a XR600B and SP3 speakers for our sound years ago and was a real work horse. Our church still has an XR600B which is used at functions and works great.
This new series XR-S amplifier does an excellent job of crisp, rich sound, with plenty of power for our new band's vocals, paired up with a set of JBL, JRX215 speakers.

.I bought my first XR-S back in July of 2016. In mid March of 2017 IT FAILED!
After shutting the unit off and then going to power it back on NOTHING!! Thankfully our gig was over! I just wanted to make an announcement afterwards.
I had to order a second unit to keep the show going, as we play every Saturday for a modern church service. The first unit is now at Peavey for warranty repairs. I have used Peavey equipment for over 45 years! This was the first failure I have ever had. I just hope that the XR-S is not prone to failures.
I will have a back up now if one or the other fails again.
On a positive note the unit's sound and clarity as well as power is superb! That is why I chanced getting the second unit. I took a leap of faith!
