Product Features

Here is a beautiful, hand signed label , by legendary   Kazuo Yairi, dreadnought acoustic with solid cedar top and burled mahogany back and sides. Highest end Japanese construction with Indian rosewood fingerboard and bridge, inlaid headstock and fingerboard, abalone sound hole rosette and maple binding. A few light scratches and a dull finish area by the pickguard from fingers resting on that area in the satin finished solid cedar top, otherwise in excellent to near mint shape for it's age. Signature impressed into the lower bout and year of manufacture is  1988 or 89, but the ink is blurry. A Yairi serial number lookup says it's 1989.

The tone of this guitar is amazing  and the action has been professionally set up for low action and very easy playability.  Very little original fret wear indicates light use throughout it's life. Includes original arch-top hard shell case.

The exquisite headstock is inlaid with a combination of natural materials that makes a statement of distinction. Maple, abalone, ebony, walnut, and burled mahogany are all hand inlaid with pride. The warm solid cedar top, natural wood bindings, and beautiful burled mahogany give the instrument its tonal character. Even the machine heads are unique gold, amber buttoned, and die cast for accurate tuning. The genuine abalone and mother of pearl is inlaid at the twelfth fret position to state that the DY61 is truly something special.
