Players have done it for years. Whether installing hotter pickups, different pickguards or just plain personalizing their instruments with distinctive paint jobs, modified means adding new twists to familiar designs. Squier's Vintage Modified series excels at just that, imparting hot-output chop-shop sound, feel and value to traditional instrument designs.

Always wanted Tele custom but did not want to pay prices for something I would modify anyway. I just wanted some quality woodwork and neck. Love the tone of Basswood for Teles,so I took a chance. Neck has great feel, not too thick or thin, nice fret work thou it's more between vintage and medium than a medium jumbo. Have already replaced the nut as it was cut poorly and to high and wrong contour for neck. Replaced bridge with one with individual saddles for my preference and bridge pick-up for same. The original sounded great, but once again personal preference. Overall a quality instrument for the price but for the little extra I would have gone with the Chinese Teles instead. But they don't make a Tele Custom model. I have found they have quality standards of the early Japanese Squiers and Mexican Teles.

.This is one KILLER guitar !! As good as any MIM Fender Tele. Cannot believe the quality for the price. I have a 2002 MIM Fender Strat that I have put away. Fast, comfortabe neck - no rough fret ends, and right out of the box - no buzz - no problems. Got the Sunburst and the gloss finish is just beautiful. Made in Indonesia where I guess they take the time to get everything right. A great buy. Playing 54 years now, and this is one of the best axes I've ever put my fingers to.

.Ordered this for my son and received it today from Custom Guitar's Friend. Quick shipping and received in great shape. Great set up right out of the box. This is for my son but so far he can't get it awy from his Old Man. This guitar is impressive. It looks beautiful and feels even better. Great sound, looks great, plays great and feels great in my hands... With shipping and tax included I paid less than 3 bills. Best deal ever! I own or have owned Gibsons, Danelectros, Rickenbackers and Fenders made here in the good ol' U.S. of A., as well as Mexico and Japan and would put this Indonesian Squier right in there with any of them and I've been playing professionally for nearly 40 years. I highly recommend this guitar...

.Made in: INDONESIA. WEIGHT: 3.5Kg or IBS: 7.71.
Ok in my opinion Squier "CHINES" models have better quality control in there factories. I can say this because I own a few Tele's & Strats =CHINES.

1st, The INDONESIAN quality control is lacking. I own two of these Customs Tele's - BLK & THREE-TONE. The problem, both necks at top> LOW 'E' aren't "FLAT STRAIGHT SQUARE" as they should but are rounded in some spots at top of fretboard. So this is where lack of quality control of neck begins!
2nd, the ash tray saddles lack the "TELE TWANG" & have found them stiff & hard. Ash tray bridge needs to be changed.
3rd, one out of my four tone knobs are abit stiff.

THATS ALL THE NEGATIVE things I can find.
EVERYTHING ELSE IS AWESOME especially the DUNCAN DESIGNED BRIDGE PICKUP.The finish is very nice and I rate it 10/10. Headstock is absolutely beautiful. The weight is ok but a little heavy in my opinion. NICE PRICE.

I would like to add that I own many IBANEZ INDONESIAN MADE GUITARS & BASSES and have found IBANEZ QUALITY CONTROL INDONESIA IS OUTSTANDING & IS WAY BETTER QUALITY CONTROL THAN SQUIER INDONESIA. Please see for yourself at your local music shop and compare.

.My first new guitar was a 65 sunburst Fender telecaster, with rosewood neck. I was 10 or 11 and literally slept with the guitar for the first couple of weeks. I'm 62 and when I told my wife I wanted ANOTHER guitar, she barely could understand my need to replace this long lost love. Boy, was I surprised and impressed! Out of the box, this squire plays, sounds, and feels better than my original Fender. I love MF for their quick shipping, low pricing, friendly knowlegable sales people. They are great1

.I'm very impressed with this Indonesian Tele. It's a whole lotta guitar for three hundred clams! As a fan of Keith Richards, I jumped at the chance to get a Tele Custom that wouldn't break the bank in the process. I especially like the Fender Wide Range humbucker which delivers a nice, rich smoothness whether clean or dirty. I don't think you can find a better guitar in this price range.

.I bought this for my son to replace a First Act Paul Westerberg Model electric that he'd had a number of years and grew out of. I found this and was wary because it's a Squier. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised. I actually used this on my latest CD and this guitar is killer. It plays great, sounds greta and is well put together. The neck is beautiful. It has a maple neck with a relic'd tint to it and it is just uneblievable. Buy this guitar! Now!! One of the best deals ever!!!

.Great tone and feels so good to play.
Squier Vintage Modified Telecaster Custom Electric Guitar Black Maple Fingerboard
.The guitar plays nice. No hum or noise. Stays in tune. Light enough to not break your shoulder yet heavy enough to let you know it's made of wood. I like the 91/2" neck radius and was tired of MIM strats. I have kids so I don't have extra money. This guitar fits the bill. It is not a $2000 guitar. It isn't meant to be. There are some rough edges in the finish areas (edges of the guitar not smooth as glass, fret grooves overcut) none of which effect the play ability it's just something I noticed. I'll admit that the 3 saddle bridge didn't thrill me at first, but it seems fine for now. Maybe I'll throw a brass one on later.
