I have tons of guitars and mainly a Gibson man - I have a couple Les Pauls, a Flying V, a 60s Tribute SG w/P90s, and an amazing lawsuit 70s Ibanez Les Paul. I have most tones covered and then some - except for a strat tone. I decided to get a strat for the collection and also because I was wanting to mess around with some less heavy music and play some blues. I played probably 25 different strats looking for the right one - and I was not going to get a Squier, only a Fender would do and I had to have a rosewood board, but I was on a budget. I played several different Mexican strats and none of them really did anything for me - all were flat and dull sounding and just felt kind of cheap. After trying several out at some of the big box stores, two different guys I trust at two different used music stores, both told me the best budget strat they had was the Vintage Modified series, hands down. I basically had my choice, a white one at one store or a black one at another and they were both amazing. I ended up with the black on black. And I even ended up with the maple neck. So far, I'm very pleased. Sounds better, feels better, and of course was better on the wallet than any of the different model MIM strats. I'm happy! The Vintage Modified and Classic Vibe series Squiers are hands down the way to go for a budget strat folks. Don't even tink twice. I did the homework for you and the conclusion was an easy one to come to.

.Looks cool. Plays great, chunky neck, perfect setup. Compelling tone (especially the neck pickup dark and ballsy). Had to add a big headstock Strat to my collection. Prefer vintage tuners, amber tint finished maple neck, alnico pickups. Highly recommended.
It's a Strat.
Full depth body (1 3/4"), ALNICO pickups measured 6.7K neck and middle, 10.7k bridge DC resistance, String spacing at bridge is narrower than vintage by 1/16" (measures 2 1/8"). Small tremolo block. Vintage style tuners have hole and string slot in posts. Impressive fit and finish; neck fit to body is tight! A couple screws in pickgard are set in at an angle.
Essentially a classic series for less than half price.

.I love the late 60's and 70's strats. My first pro guitar was a 68 strat, and I have always loved them. I came upon these here at MF and loved the look of them, and watched some reviews on you tube. So after all that I ordered one. I was more than surprised at the playability of this guitar...pretty amazing if you ask me. Everything works great, the fit and finish is close to perfect. I ordered the black one because that was the color of my 68.I'm gonna replace the pickguard and knobs and pu covers with white ones then it will look like my first one, but if you looking for an affordable strat that plays and sounds great, you owe it to yourself to go try one out.

.The reason there are no bad reviews is there is nothing bad to say about this guitar. I have been playing all my life and have played just about every kind of guitar made. This one is the best Stratocaster I've owned and that is saying a whole lot. I put vintage cream knobs, pickups etc. to give it the Gilmourish look. The vintage "string in" tuners should be on all guitars!

Just buy one. And don't ever sell it.
I got mine yesterday...the black and maple one. It is my fourth strat, including two "Fender" strats. I can already see this is going to be my favourite. I really like the chunky neck (reminds me a bit of my old 70's tele), the solid build and the retro-style tuners. Just a great guitar to get your hands around
Arrived in perfect condition. Looks and feels solid. I might lower the action slightly but don't need to do a truss-rod correction.
Seriously, in times like these when cash is scarce, why waste your money on the much more expensive Fender products. This beauty is nicer than my Mexican strat and sounds absolutely fantastic. Pick-ups are largely a question of taste. I quite like these ones because they offer something different. Not as "hot" as, for example, hot rails but not as quiet as tex-mex pups. I think they sound great, especially the neck pick-up. Very full-on!

.This guitar is an incredible value. The only guitars I would rather have would be one of the Squier Classic Vibes or a Fender Custom Shop strat. The quality that Squier is putting out these days is on par with Fender IMO.
Pickups are good not great. Neck could be thicker... my preference though.
Fit and finish is spectacular for this price point. Only reason it's not a 10 is because I played it's sibiling (the yellow/white with the rosewood fingerboard) and it had some dead spots.
This thing played and sounded better than the Fender American Standards on the wall next to it.

.I've played 51 years. I've had countless great guitars, including a '74 Fender Strat which had a similar look. This guitar is probably the most surprising of all. I can't believe a guitar this good could be so inexpensive and it came out of the box so well put together and adjusted. It is gorgeous. The overall quality of this Indonesian Squire product indicates how seriously they value their craftsmanship. It stands on its own as a unique product. It isn't an American Fender due to materials, but it is equal in workmanship, at least mine is. Worth much more than it costs. You can't build one this good for this price.

.Super guitar for the price! Sound, action, feel are all 100% in my opinion. I have owned alot of guitars over the years and this one is a perfect example of what a strat should be for a small amount of cash. Its far better than any Mex strat I have owned and a favorite amoung my Squires. The acton is nice and the highgloss finish on the neck is sweet and smooth. Pickups goe from bell tone clean to nice overdriven metal tones. Get one, you wont regret it.

.I've owned around 15 guitars including American made Fenders and I've got to say this guitar is one of my favorites. The Seymour Duncan pickups cut through the mix very well while still maintaining the strat quack that we all love. I keep looking at the headstock thinking.. This is a Squier? I've retired my custom MIM Strat for this one.

.Just got it this afternoon, inspected it well and finish is flawless (Blk w/Maple), has a serious dressed up attitude. I'm pleased it stays in tune mighty well too.

After pushing it on the first hour I can say that for a true all around Fender sound and quality, there is no need to buy anything else (sorry FMIC). Squier VM 70's Stratocaster allows everything in the musical spectrum, just play it and you'll see what all the fuzz is about.

I'm running it loud through a AC4TV by itself or with several EHX pedals and, no hiccups my friend!! :) HUGE bang for your nowadays hard earn buck.
Get yours before this batch is gone!! Thanks MF for an outstanding deal.

ROCK ON!
