Very impressed with this bass. The quality and construction are outstanding for the money. The tone is unique, neither p-bass, j-bass or MM. It has a tone that is a blend of all 3 basses. You are sure to find a tone that suits you.The EQ is nice, but the bass has a TON of high mid-range. You can tame it easily with the mid pot.
I played it live this weekend with my 17-piece dance band. It sounded fantastic and I received several compliments.

.Bottom two strings fretted out before the first fret indicating it needed a new nut. Slow down, build it right.

.I got this bass and knowing that my ezpectations were low so I was prepared to put some qork into it. First off output jack was stereo but Ill get to that later. After opening the box I had everything ready to set it up and set the action plus I tought Ok 45 minute on set up its not that bad. Out of the box bass was perfect I mean really perfectly set up and intonated and height and all that jazz. When I plugged it in then I got to the problem, it would work only half way in. Output was stereo. I was kind of disapointed but I called MF they gave me the credin for a new jack. There was no way I was returning this baby. Bad thing was I had to wait few days to really put it thru the paces due to cut offs with original output. Now it is fixed and ready to roll and man, this is the best playing bass that I own. I do own 10 bass guitars from original fender jazz and gibson eb and ltd d4. This pickup is very well balanced. Eq is very responsive and neck nice and thin. I love everything about this bass that I had to order one with rosewood fretboard. Great bass for the third of the cost, you cant beat that.

.I loved everything about this bass but the bass (boost/cut) active EQ knob crackled when rotated and caused the bass to cut out on occasions. So I had to send it back to Custom Guitar's Friend for a replacement. I rec'd the replacement in 3 days only to have the replacement bass damaged in shipment. The pick guard was bashed in and the controls were hanging out of the body when I unboxed the bass. I am now waiting for my 3rd bass ( 2nd replacement). My fingers are crossed and I am hoping for a flawless bass this time. I have been playing bass for over 50 years and found this bass to be a real pleasure to play at an extremely affordable price. This bass will definitely be a keeper to add to my already very large guitar, bass and assorted string instrument collection.

.Got this as the SDOTD. I'm a certified guitar tech and have been a giging bassist for nearly 35 years. I own many Fenders and the overall design and build quality of this Squier is mind boggling regardless the price. Looks like Fender recently discontinued it, likely because the quality rivals the US version.

.This is an amazingly good bass for the price. The finish is nearly flawless. The neck has really good fretwork, and plays with ease. I like the smooth poly finish on the neck. The active electronics are quiet, but maybe could have a little more bass boost in the eq. The Dimension bass really has a sound of it's own, more midrange heavy, that cuts through but even with the mids dialed all the way back they are still present so they must be going for this style of sound. The bass came with a pretty good setup and came with good sounding strings. The Fender bridge is a nice addition. Overall a really good bass for a budget price.

.Bought as a Deal of the Day. Didn't have high expectations. Bass arrived unplayable. I did a complete set upon the instrument. Then it turned out to be a great investment and a decent player. Tends to be a bit "tinny" sounding, but still quite fun to play.

.I bought this because the price was too Stupid to pass. I'm old enough to come from an era that thinks anything from China, Indonesia, or Vietnam is total junk. Well this Indonesian bass is a game changer for me. It looks, sounds and plays great. Of course it's not an American made Fender or on par with a $1500 bass but I'd put it up against any sub 1000 buck bass any day of the week. I'll write an update after I've had it for a while but out of the box, I am more than pleased. Set up nicely, well dressed frets, active pickup is quiet and punchy. I have the transparent red with maple fretboard. I'll gig with it this weekend and report back. Well done Squier folks.

.Bought this bass as a SDOTD. I figured it was worth a shot and wouldn't be a huge loss.
Best return I've gotten on a gamble in a while!
Granted there was the dreaded A string buzz. Remedied it right away with a very thin piece of plastic under the string in the nut. I'm sure when I put on a new set of strings and don't cut the string too short, it will be fine.
But the bass plays like butter. The maple fingerboard has the spank that I need for metal and funk. The action is very playable and no fret buzz. (The fret buzz I mentioned in the cons was the open "A" buzz that I remedied). The weight is nice and the finish is absolutely beautiful.
And a five bolt neck joint? Wait, this is a Squier, right?
The sound is amazing for single pickup instrument. Well, I guess it's not really single pickup. but the preamp is one of the best and most responsive I've used in a long time. I was shocked to tell the truth.
Do it if you're thinking about it. Word on the street is that they're being discontinued sometime soon.
