I was pleasantly surprised by this little guy.I run the trigger out from a Monotribe to clock this and use its cv out to run a small modular synth of eurorack stuff so it's all synched to the Monotribe.
It would be 5 stars if I could use the add-on memory pedal to store linked sequences as songs. As it is it only stores the 8-step sequences.
All in all though I love it. It's about the price of a Pittsburgh Modular sequencer but in a self-contained, self-powered, midified unit.

I use this to control the envelope of the pigtronix philosopher king (CV in). Works like a charm. I can now control the tempo as well as a host of other parameters to create a precise tremolo effect much more versatile than a typical 3-4 knobber. I can also continue to use the PK as a compressor.Included TRS cable was a nice touch. Love the different note divides. A bit big (I make use of 2 or 3 sliders usually) but quick to learn, easy to use, and a great product.

.For the creative potential and accessibility, this is an excellent deal! Factor in the price, even better!
I use this with a Boss PS-5, some of my older Moog gear, and plugging into the EXP jack of Strymon gear generates some interesting possibilities. There's also some discussion out there for interesting mods...
My only complaints are primarily with the interface. It's a personal thing; I don't like "press and hold" in general for something that is supposed to be intended for live use. I think accessing a few of the deeper functions could have been remedied with another knob or button: changing the play mode, saving and loading the onboard presets...but that comes back to the price.
Also, even when set at maximum depth and minimum glide, the stepping still has a slight legato effect. I've only noticed this on pitch effects when covering a wide jump (like 2 octaves), but it is only "slight"...
Since I mainly use this in the studio for experimenting and making loops I only have the 8-Step and not the preset controller. I'll probably pick that up before I start using it live.
There are other options out there for people who need more functionality. For someone who has some compatible gear and wants to play with CV, this is a good starting point.
