Custom Guitars love it and collectors cherish it. Nothing can compare to the organic sound of analog delay, especially when it's from the Deluxe Memory Man. Up to 550ms of vibrant echo that rivals tape delay. Lush, spatial chorus and haunting vibrato are just a few of the treats in the Memory Man's sonic smorgasbord. The pedal features the exact same warm analog circuit, with premium, vintage, integrated circuits, all housed in a more pedal board-friendly enclosure.
The Blend control allows you to vary the mix of direct and delayed signals, and the center-position setting equals out both levels. Feedback provides delay repeats, or multiple echoes. Fairly high feedback with short delay settings produces a reverb effect. The Delay control determines the time between direct and delayed signals, and between the repeats when feedback is used. Strange, eerie, and unusual pitch-shift effects can be produced by changing the delay, while playing-especially while using feedback. The Chorus/Vibrato control introduces a modulation in the delay time: slow for chorus, faster for vibrato. This produces a "Doppler" pitch shifting in the delayed signal. A rich, vibrant chorus effect is produced with the switch set to chorus, delay fairly short, blend at the center, chorus set high, and feedback fairly high.

With surface mounted components and an unfamiliar tone, the XO Memory Man is a sad sign of the times. The old pressed metal version of the memory man was a joy to use. It sounded great, the big knobs provided a nice tactile experience and the thing was built well and built to last. After opening up the XO pedal, I wonder why the Electro-Harmonix company doesn't just man up and start dip soldering these things in China. They might as well. You are paying more for a pedal that provides less. This pedal and the whole XO line is a big slap in the face to the loyal customers of the brand and anyone considering buying this pedal should just pick up the old pressed metal version (the nice, big case version) second hand. You will be doing yourself a favor and hurting Electro-Harmonix where it hurts most: their wallet.Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man XO Analog Delay Guitar Effects Pedal
.Overall the delay is beautfiul. It sounds very ogranic. Easy to control/tweak. Love the vibrato. Its beautiful. Just cant express how satisfied with this pedal i am. So far this is my second Ehx pedal and they are both now my favorite. The micro pog and the memory man.
I just received this pedal as a birthday gift and this is by far the best delay ive ever used. The chorus and vibrato features sound great and very natural. Very easy to use pedal to get the sound you want out of it.
I was always hesitant to buy this pedal because of the price but i think it is worth it. If you are interested in the carbon copy by mxr, that is a great analog delay, but go ahead and spead the extra money and get the memory man.
Hmmm, its expensive but i guess its priced accurately for how much better it is than other pedals. It is expensive yes, i wish it was at least a little less, but im very satisfied with it.

.this pedal is nothing more than a perfect delay. a little pricey but if all you want is a solid delay with easy control, this, without question, is the one. the memory man delay is the purest sound that all other pedals wish they could replicate. sounds sweet for either guitar or bass!
