I've been using these for a week now and i'm still amazed at how well they feel and sound. I've used tons of different string brands and dunlop really hit a homerun with these. They don't feel like "heavy" strings, they're actually kinda lite. I use these for standard tuning on a les paul and the tone and feel is perfect. .i love these strings. i put them on ithink 2 months ago and there still on my axe. no visible or feelable rust, and they stay in tune really well. i do 1/2 step down tuning and i drop d without problems and bring it back up to the e without problems. i know its the strings holding the tuning, not the tuning pegs because ive tried other strings that cant handle my drop d abuse; these can. the tone is great but it only lasted 1 of the 2 months ive had them on, wich is when people usaly change there strings anyways. these rock.

.I was looking for a set of strings that didn't get all floppy when I tuned down to D standard on a 24.75" scale guitar. Since it was kind of an experiment for that guitar I didn't want to get some crazy thick 12-54 or 13-60 set which probably would have meant that I would have to make the nut slots bigger and then replace the nut if I decided to go back. Then I found these, and they were perfect for my needs! I'm accostomed to 10-46 set on my standard tuned 25.5 scale length guitars and these have just a bit more string tension tuned to D standard on a 24.75" guitars. I can also go down to drop C and the low string still won't get floppy. Didn't have to widen the nut slots at all, so if I ever decide to go back to standard all I have to do is adjust the truss rod and reset my intonation. I probably won't go back because I like it so much..

I've had these on a guitar I play a lot for a month or two, and I haven't broken any. I don't break a whole lot of strings in general, though ...
They are worth what I paid for them ... which was the average price for an normal set of strings

.I've been playing guitar for nearly 10 years and have used almost every brand out there, and had settled on D'addario before switching to these strings.They break in faster than d'adds, have more tonal characteristics than ernie ball, and are neither brittle nor noodley. In my opinion these strings are the best.

.These are advertised to be for people "who tune below D" Yeah? I was playing 12's and figured I could go down to these and get 11's and have similar tension. Not even close. Slinky rubber band strings. Not what I wanted at all, at all, at all. I feel cheated and lied to. I don't think Dunlop strings will ever find their way on my guitar ever again. Sorely disappointed. Spend a little less time worrying about how fresh the string is and sell what you're advertising JERKS.
I hated these strings so band I wouldn't take them for free.

.On a 24.75" scale guitar (such as an Epiphone LP-100), these strings are the bee's knees in E Standard tuning. The wound strings aren't any easier to fret, strum, slap, squeal, or otherwise pummel compared to thinner-cored strings, but they feel and -more importantly- sound quite thick and bassy. Oddly enough, while sounding all thick and bassy, they're actually relatively bright. It's an accoustical miracle.
If you're into that overusing pinch-harmonics for obnoxious squeals (heaven knows I am), these strings will deliver a swirling vortex of high harmonics the likes of which I hadn't seen since using Rev. Willy's Mexican Lottery Brand strings (also made by Dunlop - weird coincidence). So whether you want to accentuate some non-muddy d'jenting with well-placed pinch harmonics or throw a somber etude under the bus just because you can, these strings make it easer.
Now it isn't all a bed of peanut butter cups and tequila. The plain strings; like the much smaller counterparts in the Rev. Willy set; are more slippery than silicon-soaked snail snot and that makes the initial break in period require patience.
If you like strings that give a thick, clear tone, can throw off pinch-harmonics at whim, and do so without demanding much in the way of physical strength and don't mind having to wait almost 24 hours for the plain strings to settle in, you may enjoy these bubs. I don't think they can handle drop tuning on a 24.75" scale guitar, but they're very, very nice in E Standard.
