I love Dunlop Products but this was a surprise? First thing, I'm not the biggest expert on slides but I've used them for 30yrs in every material they come in. I look for tone & comfort, I've looked to Great Slide Players like Duane Allman, Johnny Winter, Derek Trucks, Warren Haynes, Rory Gallagher etc. Pyrex is a material Borosilicate glass, not many manufactures state this, but if compared "Side by Side" with true Glass, which the Derek Trucks Slide is trying to Copy the Original Coricidin Medicine Bottle, the Tone is like "Night and Day!" and if you look for the "Very Original" there expensive and they have the letter "W" with the number "8" on the bottom from the '60,s - '70,s True Glass (Fusing Soda Lime & Sand) Tone is More Stable and Cleaner with a nice top end especially for electric guitar with light-heavy distortion, for acoustics there are a number materials that sound great including Glass. The Derek Trucks Slide sounds more "Rattily" and "Dead Sounding" compared to Glass, if you don't have it "side by side" you won't know! The Trucks Slide is better as a backup, or another option but if your going to play Live & in Recording studios the Glass Slide is Superior, the Derek Trucks Slide is "Good to OK" (I love Derek's playing and I'm a big Fan).Dunlop Derek Trucks Signature Glass Bottle Slide
.Had my SG signed by Derek on Aug 15, 2013 in Detroit. At the same time he said, "Here you go, man," and handed me this slide. The ink/paint is on the inside, so I know he didn't sign it. But, I think he uses these. He may have used the one he gave me, not sure.
I agree with the earlier poster, that I like a thicker-walled slide. In fact, I regularly make my own from wine bottles. They are the best in my opinion. Thicker walls give a warmer sound (since the string submits to the slide). You can really tell the diff on the wound strings.

.This is a great slide for some, but I was looking for something with thicker walls. It feels too light and thin to me. The sound is there but with sweat build up for a coricidin style bottle, the lightweight of the slide will make it slide off. I have owned hundreds of slides over the years and all are different. I was purchasing this in hopes of a thick inner wall to add a bit more weight that this one has.
I will use this a backup and continue my search for glass slides with no seams.
