The FFM2 Germanium Fuzz Face Mini is based on '66-'68 era pre-silicon Fuzz Faces famous for warm vintage fuzz tones provided by slightly mismatched germanium transistors. The Fuzz Face Mini pedal line features legendary Fuzz Face tones in smaller, more pedal board-friendly housings with several modern appointments: true bypass switching, a bright status LED, an AC power jack and a convenient battery door.

I bought this because my band mate has the mini blue 108 version and it sounds exactly like my Fulltone 70 108C. So I bought this one because I have a white dot NKT 275 sunface in a big FF housing that won't fit on my board. Well I won't lie, at first there were some slight tonal differences, and I mean very slight. If you were sitting in a crowd I couldn't imagine being able to tell the difference. But I installed a carbon zinc battery and messed around with inner trim pot and all I can think now is what can I get for my sunface on eBay.If you're looking at these just pull the trigger. Whether you're playing with the guitar volume on 7 on the neck pickup or on 10 with the bridge pickup this thing hung with a pedal costing three times as much and is three times smaller.
I'm probably going to buy the other two from Custom Guitars Friend and sell both my 70 & Sunface and pocket some extra cash. I wish I had this five years ago it would have saved me some serious coin...
I use a Fender CS '56 Strat, a Catalinbread DLS MkIII as a foundation overdrive, into a Marshall Jubilee 2553 50w 2x12 cab.

.I have a Vox Tone Bender! Best Fuzz pedal you can get. I didn't want to take a chance of using it and someone stealing it so I've been searching for another germanium pedal that sounds good for live performance. This one is as good as any new fuzz I've found. Love the size of it, sounds fine and cost is fair!

.This fuzz is great. If you know how to use a volume knob on your guitar, then you will love this pedal. if you are a all the way to 10 guy/girl you will miss out on it's versitility. If you are thinking of buying it, do it. WARNING: my first one had an issue where the light stayed on when off. Returned it with ease @MF! New one rocks!

.My first Fuzz Face and my first germanium fuzz. Long time bigmuff user, but was kind of tired of the metal midscooped sound. The germanium fuzz face is raunchy and sits back in a mix but has a cool vintage sound and can can get insane big Miff sounds when stacked with a distortion pedal.
Love the battery door, love the new size, love the laser bright led. I can leave it on all the time if I wanted too and just turn down my volume to select the amount of dirt I want, but that's not how I use it

.If you spend a lot more money you can of course get a better sounding pedal. But for the money this pedal is great.

.I placed an order for this pedal immediately after seeing it for the first time. I knew the original was a classic (used by Hendrix, etc.), and the size was always the deal breaker, but this pedal fixes that, and it's near-perfect. I love the sound (haven't tried the Silicon and Hendrix models)...it's nice and fat and warm. It's not overly bold, which I like. It is very smooth and organic-sounding. The controls remain the same (Fuzz, Volume), and there is the welcome addition of a 9V jack and indicator light. Highly recommended!

.I'm a bit of a fuzz nut and have owned various pedals over the years, but I'm completely in awe of this little red one. Historically the germanium Fuzz Faces have been hit and miss depending on how the how matched the transistors are, also the germanium ones are notoriously sensitive to temperature changes etc so I'm not sure if I was just lucky with this one or not but for me this pedal is the holy grail of thick woolly fuzz. I do notice that tone changes a bit as the pedal warms up but not in a bad way; some of the spiky raspiness smooths out and it settles into a kind of sweet spot, but its absolutely lovely. Its super touch responsive and cleans up smoothly when I roll back my guitars volume to around 5-7 o'clock. Consequently, it will also take some getting used to for players who are used to having their guitar always turned up to 10 and kicking boosts and dirt pedals on and off as needed, the Fuzz Face is really a subtle extension of your guitar and demands to be played accordingly. I'm using mine with my SG, my Casino, or my tele and the pedal works well with all of them but the Casino's p90s sound especially great. Other improvements to the original design in addition to the tinier footprint are corrected in/out jacks now consistent with every other pedal out there. You can also power it with standard 9 volt jack which may be appreciated because the battery housing is tight tight tight and a bit of a pain to get one in or out. (I use a battery with mine though) The other possible downside is that this pedal really wants to be first in your chain to sound good at all. But whatever, you want that germanium-only tone you must deal with these idiosyncrasies. I love this thing.

.I Liked the size along with the addition of the ac adaptor and the led indicator.
After reading reading info on the transistors used and a helpful review on how the
Guitar volume switch actually controls the fuzz effect, I purchased the pedal and am
Very happy that I did. It's exactly the sound I was looking for. Great fuzz and sustain.

.Never had a fuzz pedal before, so when I saw they made them in a mini size I had to try one. And I am sure glad I did!
I can see this pedal getting a lot of use in my rig beause it just so so cool. Love the fuzzy distortion. Fits nicely on my oedalboard and looks great too.
I rread a lot about fuzz pedals being tricky, but I didn't find that.
This added another dimension to my rig!
