I've been playing the bass clarinet since the end of September, after playing a regular, soprano clarinet for 2.75 years. The strap that came with the bass clarinet was a painful piece of crap. The cloth was nylon (or some other plastic-y material) and it offered no cusion and was always digging into my skin. The instrument felt like it weighed about 50 pounds also. I was miserable. Then, I was bored one night and stumbled upon THIS strap, and immediately knew that I needed to own it.I ordered it about 2 days after christmas, so naturally it didn't come until around January 4th or so, but I was ok with the wait. It was WELL worth it. The air-cells are amazing and make it feel like the bass clarinet isn't even there. Also, the strap stretches, which acts as a nice shock absorber if you need to march with it (like I do.) The adjustor slides very easily, so if you only have a measure of rest and make the split decision that it's uncomfortable, you can still adjust it and have time to spare before you need to start playing. And not only that, but if you look very closely, the part where the actual neck strap attaches to the adjustable strap part, there's a little smiling dinosaur. That made me VERY happy, as I am a dork. If there's 1 downside to this strap, it's that it requires a large amount of "breaking-in", because the back is very stiff and you can't really bend your neck back, so you need to beat it up slightly if you wish to have the ability to bend your neck back.I HIGHLY recomend this neck strap to anyone that wants/needs a new one :)

.This is the 2nd Air Cell neck strap I bought. I am happy with both of them. I now have 2 bari saxes

.Love the neck strap, for comfort and functionality however two separate ones broke in the same location under the weight of a bari saxaphone to which it is meant to hold.

.I found the very wide neck/shoulder part of the strap to be uncomfortable. So I cut part of it off, so it would just be on my neck which is what I am used to. Now the strap is comfortable, but too long even at the shortest position :( So it's sort of a train wreck for me. Would probably work fine for someone bigger than I am (I am 5'4"). When I have some time, I may try to re-work the strap to see if I can make it shorter, but still sturdy...
