This is a great guitar for heavy metal. The stock pick ups sound great with plenty of bite but are also articulate, not muddy. The neck is extremely fast and feels very comfortable. If you're into playing old school Metallica or Megadeth, go for it. You won't be disappointed.Jackson JS32T Rhoads Electric Guitar Black with White Bevel
.I received this guitar yesterday and have been playing it non-stop. I really like the feel of the guitar, light weight, but sturdy. The neck is the easiest neck to play on of all my guitars (5 Now) and is almost effortless to play. I am glad I got this guitar, it looks awesome and plays great!

.The primary reason I give this guitar 3 stars is because of the fret access. One spec I can't live without is 24 frets. This is also THE reason I was looking at this model rather than the higher end ones. Bottom line: You cant get to frets 22-24 unless you have it up to your chin and make sure your thumb is no longer grasping the neck. This is because the angle of the guitar branching off from the neck is too perpendicular, so by the time you're at fret 24 the body has flared away a good 1.5 inches – at least. It's deceptive because seeing that the body doesn't begin until fret 19 one would think those last 5 frets wouldn't be an issue, but they are. That was a dealbreaker for me.
The only other real negative is neck dive. V's have a reputation for this but this was easily a 10/10 on the offending scale; the neck didn't gradually slip down to point at the ground it was one swift motion. Given the price I wouldnt mind paying to re-place the strap pins and fix the problem.
The build is quite good. The satin finish on the body and the neck was ultra smooth and fast. The controls seemed sturdy enough and I had no sense that the neck joint or any other point in the guitar would ever be in danger of breaking. I'd heard in an online review that this guitar feels too light to the point it feels cheap but I did not sense that at all. For the size it felt solid – though not heavy – and I'm a guy who definitely wants to feel like I'm holding a man's piece of professional equipment and not a toy.
Can't say too much about the pickups other than they don't suck because I didn't take it into the expensive tube amp room and just plugged into a Spider IV. The amp was able to "be itself" while not feeling like the pickups were weak in any way.
Ultimately if you're just starting and this is your first guitar you should definitely get it. But if you've been playing a few years & are into metal or classical the lack of upper fret access will eventually make you regret the purchase.

.Got mine at a discount maybe because they put a black pickguard on black body which I didn't realize till I started searching this model after I bought it and fell in love with it. Played great at GC and it didn't take me long to realize I HAD to have it! Great quality with fast neck and super sounding (quiet) pickups. Nice to have a change from the Floyds where tuning and setup takes time. This guitar played perfect on the floor and I recently changed the strings and it sounds even better. Killer deal for the price! Get one now because guitar manufacturers have a way of running batches and then discontinuing the models even if the particular model is good.

.I gave it a five because, for the amount I paid, this guitar does exactly want you would expect it to and it's definitely a bang for your buck. Cleans sound bright and smooth, dirty sounds heavy and powerful. The feel of this guitar is so smooth with that satin Esq neck. Easy accesible frets and so comfortable to play in the classical position. The attention to detail on this guitar is great but there are still a few minor little quirks about it. For example tiny scratches on the volume knob and a small scratch on the 14 fret(no fret buzz just a comestic issue that's barely noticeable), to name a few. Overall we know why we're even thinking about getting this guitar, it looks sic, it stands out, and it's such a different direction from a start body guitar. I was tired of playing those type of body's so when I saw this it caught my eye. Not only those is look amazing but it really does sound fantastic. After putting 10's on it and setting it up, it definitely sounds and feels more than what I paid for it. If you like how it lookss then get it because you won't be disappointed with the sound.

.I've had this guitar now for about a week and I got to tell you...I can't put it down. I own a few of the other major brand guitars but this is my first jackson. I'va always wanted to play a Rhoads model so I just went out and bought one because of the price. If this is the low end model then I can't believe it could get any better. To be honest...I've played a Dinky model before but Wow! What a fun guitar this one is. Amazingly fast and easy neck/fretboard. Way nice metal tones from the stock Jackson pickups and very comfortable to play. I'm really digging the compound radius freatboard and the Good build quality too. Set up was good also. If you like playing metal...this is your axe without a doubt.

.Very impressed with this thing. The neck feels great, not super slim, just about perfect for someone who is used to a traditional Strat neck. Fretwork on mine was flawless and the action is low and without buzz. I strung it up with tens so the truss rod required a bit of adjustment, but other than that it was well set up out of the box.
The pickups are so-so, but it screams with a JB in the bridge. It has the standard imported mini pots and lack-lustre switch, but they work fine and I have not felt the need to replace them yet.
All and all it's a great "fun" guitar, not really one I'm going to take to gigs, or even out of the house, but tons of fun for playing your favorite 80's licks.
