This bass is great, it stays in tune, the neck is fast and smooth, the tone controls let you alter the sound quite a bit, the blend knob is good to get the pickup you want, or both. It arrived with the action alrady set, so that's a plus.Only downfall is that it won't fit in a regular case or gig bag, so I had to get the coffin case.
The tone knobs are great, they have like click feature to tell you when they are in the middle, also with the blond knob. Great feature.
The quality seems very good, it is a build well, and very solid. The tuners stay in tune, the thing even came with the action set perfectly.
I couldn't really ask for much more considering the price, it's active which is good, had great tuners so.
.i would have comfortably paid more and been happy. Full scale neck and easy to drop action for smooth fingering.. Its a bit heavy, but for recording and jamming it really sounds great.
.I traded my Yamaha BB415 bass and purchased the ESP LTD AX-104 Bass about a week ago. I run it through a ZOOM bass pedal and it's powered by a Beringer 450 watt bass amp with a 2/10 and a 1/15 speaker cabs. The neck is very playable and the action is pretty fast. I play rock and funk and during practice, it makes for a great rock/pop bass. But when I want to play it funky, I have to switch to my Yamaha BB1600. The ESP LTD AX-104 Bass produces a weaker sound without much bottom for funk, and that's with or without the pedal. I still think it's a good bass and I love the look.
.All in all a great bass, pickups sound pretty good for what they are. I'd reccommend upgrading them however it sound great. At this price you can thrash it and still not feel too bad!
.I think the reviewer that did not like this guitar was talking about a different axe. The AX-104 has a basswood body, which is considered to have good tonal qualities for any type of electric guitar. Bottom line - great bass for the price.
.Had to move the strap buttons
to keep the bass from doing a
nosedive every time I removed
my hand. The bass is also bigger
than I expected. Sounds great. Good
bass for a good price.
