Well, here's my 2 cents on this ax. Very well made with decent quality. Pickups are quite good - no need to upgrade unless you go active which the control cavity has ample space. Frets well done and polished. Light weight design and I guess ESP's version of a Warlock since it's the same body size as my Warlock. The guitar screams metal and I like the matching/painted headstock and back of neck. The price just went up so better get one now! My only gripe is there's no info for a correct fitting ESP hard case or any case for that matter.ESP LTD AX-50 Electric Guitar Satin Black Chrome Hardware
.I listen to black metal, screamo, christian rock (lamb of god) and all that. and this guitar has been absolutely perfect for all of that so far. it's good for covering bands like lamb of god, metallica, divine heresy, slipknot, etc. from 1-10, i'm an 8 at this point in skill, and i find this guitar helpful. it's also good for beginners and experts.

.If you haven't played one these your missing out on a great guitar. I have had just about every guitar you could think of (been at it for fifty years) and I just happened to pick one up and was blown away. The sound, how it feels to play with factory setup just screams metal. I like to use my 60 watt roland alot and man this thing just comes alive. The feel of the neck and good tuners just makes this a great buy. For the price I got two. Black and silver. The only thing I found is that the paint marks real easy (pick marks)so I made a custom pickguard for it and that fixed that. I like my guitars to look good so I have skull knobs and I'm working on a skull nut cover. All I know is this is a great5 value for the money. Try it you'll like it!

.I got to play an AX-50 at a local guitar shop, and I loved it. The shop had a Line 6 Spider 150-watt half stack set up, which I fiddled with until I could get it to just sound like an amp, and I found that the AX's setup was ideal for both clean and overdriven tones, with a fast neck, a beautifully glossy, rosewood fretboard (which was actually much harder and smoother than any other rosewood board I'd played), strings through the body for excellent sustain and punch, and ideal string spacing for someone like me, with small hands and clumsy fingers. The sole issue I experienced with it was a mild difficulty getting it in tune and keeping it there, but this is an issue I've found with nearly every guitar I've owned, so I'd probably replace the tuning machines. All in all, though, with the warm neck and chiming bridge tones, the obscenely lightweight body, the days of sustain, and a price to fit even the most modest budgets, the AX-50 is a born metal machine soon to be added to my collection as my number-one plank.

.This is a great metal guitar. It actually was my first guitar and I still love it. But it has its kinks. For starters don't be expecting to shred high up on the board, the bolt-on neck and sheer size of this axe will make it really difficult. Also if you are looking for a soft, bluesy guitar, click back now. This guitar has such a metal bite and a sick drive. Its pickups are great, teamed with a decent amp (I use a Line 6 Spider III 15W) you will get a clean no buzz sound. Now, yes, there are better guitars out there for the same part (but not a good metal one). So if you have a metal heart, this is the iron fist you've been looking for!

.I first got this guitar about a year ago, and when it arrived in the mail I was so exited to open it. I did, and I was not disappointed. But until I started playing it and hooking it up to my amp, I began to get frustrated. The cons: 1. Very heavy for even an electric. I've had other electrics and this one is overwelming. 2. Frets buzz. Sure it can go all the way up to the third octave, but it still sounds bad, and especially out of tune once you get higher in the frets.3. Dirty sound. Hook it up to an amp and try playing it. If you have good effects you can try to steer its tone into the right direction, but other than that you have to strain to get it right.4. Uncomfortable. It's an ax, what did you expect.Pros: 1. Good body, good looks. Fun to show off to your friends and watch them grind their teeth with jealousy. x]2. Easy tuning. Keys turn easily without any cracks. Haven't broken a string yet.3. Like I said you can go all the way up to the third octave. If you're really looking to buy this good looking guitar, take my advice, and change out the pickups, get a tight strap, and maybe even readjust the fretboard a little bit, to fix the fret buzzing. I would recommend this guitar to beginners, but not advanced players or anyone above that.
