Bottom-line upfront, this is an excellent product but it does have a few warts. Still, highly recommended if you need a great sounding practice amp.

There are several features about this amp I really like a lot! With the Bluetooth integration and the IOS app, this is a very easy amp to use and program. You can dial in a great tone in minutes. The IOS app works and is easy to use - very intuitive. Setting the amp up when I first turned it on took less than a minute. The tone matching feature is great. There is an on-line library that the app will automatically suggest matching tones based on the song you want to play. You can also search by artist or song manually. There are a lot of great tones that come pretty close to the artist's tone you may want to match. You can tweak the tone to your taste - hotter, cleaner, different cab, etc. You can also easily design your own tones. All the big time amps, cabs, and stomp boxes are available - Fender, Engl, Peavey 5150, Vox, Marshall - you name it. You can save tones you created to presets via the app and load it to your amp (some people claimed otherwise in their reviews). Overall, great tones are available and are easy to dial in from scratch. They are authentic sounding. The amp side has plenty of juice. It can get very loud. To me the ease to dial in tones via the intuitive app on my IPAD from the dozens of amp options and the tone matching feature make this a great tool to practice with.

Line 6 says the amp modeling is based on the POD X3. This amp sounds much better than POD X3, which I owned and thought was horrible, most likely because it is very easy to dial in the tone via your IPAD/IOS app. The speaker system is also matched for this amp which is another contributing factor why this is light years better than POD X3. Lastly, AMPLIFI 150 has enough power to gig with, but I would recommend you get the footswitch.

I did say it had warts. Nothing major but worth stating. First, the amp is shockingly unimpressive to look at. I first saw it in a Guitar Center and I was surprised how small it was and how cheap it looks. Line 6 claims it can fit-in well in your living room. Absolutely not, this thing is 100% plastic and looks low end. The cheap plastic look makes you wonder about quality though my amp is working great with no issues. If you take it to a gig or band practice, have a thick skin because there will be a few jokes when your band mates see your new amp. The other thing is there is no line out. It would be great if you could connect to a 4x12 cab or PA. I think it would sound great. Apparently, Line 6 wants this to be a practice amp only. Lastly, and this one is important, Line 6 claims this is one of the best sounding MP3 playback systems available. Not true at all, not even close. Over the Bluetooth it is very good but not spectacular. The issue is with the aux in, the sound is nothing special and has the juice of a 20W system not a 150W system. So when I play with backing tracks, I found the sound was better if I used another device for the backing track. However, AMPLIFI is usable to jam over your backing tracks though you will notice a drop in amp volume.

These warts have more to do with Line 6 trying to keep it affordable rather than some oversight by the manufacturer.

I have never been a Line 6 guy. I bought their original AXSYS 100W amp in 1997 and even gigged with it. I give that a passing grade but my subsequent experiences were mixed at best. I bought the original Vetta combo and hated it, I bought POD XLT and thought it was ok but lacking the sparkle in the tones I wanted, and quit on Line 6 years ago after I bought POD X3 and hated it. (As stated, though the modeling for the Amplifi is based on POD X3, the Amplifi sounds much better.)

My main rig is Engl Morse Half stack. I also have a Peavey 5150 head and Engl Blackmore Half stack. All three are amazing. Does Amplifi match these amps? Obviously, no but I can get Engl, Marshall, Vox, Fender and 5150 (and more) tones out of it that sound very good. Occasionally, I don't get the response I might get from a real valve amp, but for the most part, the tones are superb. Critics who claim this is a toy or poor execution of a bad idea are missing the point completely of what this amp delivers - great tones easily dialed via the intuitive app and Bluetooth connectivity. Highly recommended.

.I love it. I've always been a line 6 guy. I've had the spider 2 and the spider valve half stacks. This amp/app has so many selections for amps, cabs, effects etc. it's also sweet used as a speaker for listening to your iPod or pandora through the Bluetooth. The 5 speaker cab sounds awesome at low and high volumes too! I don't play out anymore so for me, this is an amp for my home studio and to practice. I'm not sure I would use it for playing out live if I were still doing that. I would probably go back to the spider valve for a live situation. Also, you should really have an iPad for this amp. You can use an iPhone for the amplifi app but it's so small. I use the iPad only for tweaking and saving new tones. All in all a quality amp for someone willing to spend some time dialing in tones through the app. It's fun for me and I welcome and embrace the new technology.

.I'm not knocking the sound it gets. It sounds decent. But, this is the same old Line 6 idea in a new package. It's the pod xt's amp modeling, effects engine and cab emulation with speakers and a blue tooth/tablet interface. Too expensive and gimmicky for what it is. Buy a used pod xt a poweramp and a 2x12 cab. It'll be less expensive and much better solution.

.With a few reservations based on my experience with Line6 in the past, I decided I'd give them another shot and so I bought this amp to use as a practice amp for use with headphones, and also to use as a BluTooth speaker for entertainment at parties, I was fully expecting to use it to stream MPEG files from my Android Samsung phone, for dancing or just as background music, as well as what it was originally intended to be, a decent modeling guitar amp.

But it failed on all counts. I had about the same experience with the Line6 Spider modeling amp, that amp failed with the USB port. This Amplifi 150 amp couldn't communicate from across the room, let alone with my phone from a distance of 3 feet, and it would break up and stop working completely at a distance of 5 feet. The ONLY way it would stream properly to my phone was if I laid the phone directly on top of the amp. Not exactly a party machine. But as if that wasn't enough, the highly-touted music response from the 5 speakers was totally weak, nothing at all like I expected to hear from a 100-watt amp intended for lead guitar work. Anyone thinking this amp sounds good is going to be mightily disappointed when they get this amp unboxed and hooked up at home. I gave up the hope of a good BluTooth amp, and exchanged this Line6 disaster for the Fender Mustang IV Ver. II. At least fender kows how to make a decent modeling amp. Line6 constantly lets me down in the quality of their amps, -I still like their pedals, I still recommend their POD HD500. Their amps are a complete and total letdown.

.Bought this amp based on many reviews on youtube, looked at many other models first but am glad I decided on the Amplifi 150. Also bought the FBV Shortboard MKII, a must have in my opionion, more on this later. Amp has excellent sound and can be used as a wireless bluetooth speaker. When I downloaded the Amplifi app that is when I really found out what this amp could do. You can play a song from your music library through the app and it will quickly find/display "presets" from the cloud to try. If you find one you like you can save it the way it is or edit it to your taste. With only the amp you can save 4 presets, by adding the shortboard you can save 100 presets, in 25 banks of 4. The shortboard also comes with a built in tuner and wah/volume pedal. Using the app you create your own sounds too. Choose from 200 different amps, many different stomp boxes, delay, reverb, modulation effects. Has noise gate, compressor, equilizer and volume. It took one short call to Line6 support to resolve a few issues I had initially, easy common sense errors on my part (how to store and retrieve the presets and how to increase the music playback so it was at the same level as my gutar). Once this was resolved I have had nothing but fun using the Amplifi

.This amp is truly an amazing piece of technology. It's easy to use and both streaming music and guitar sound awesome. Easy to balance the levels of the guitar and music and overall volume with one knob (and it's LOUD). The app is fast and fairly easy to use. It is most definitely easier to create and modify tones on an iPad versus the iPhone. On the bigger screen it's quite easy and fun. The ability to access and publish tones via the cloud is great. I would love to see some refinements to the search functionality, perhaps tied to keywords rather than songs, but overall it works good. I use a drum app to add beats when I'm not playing along with my music library. The versatility has allwed me to eliminate the clutter, pedals, cords and wires from my setup so my music room looks great and the Amplifi 150 sounds better and is far easier to use. Overall I couldn't be happier. Keep up the good work Line 6!

.This is a powerful amp I have only had it for a week, so I am still learning how to get the most out of the amps features and everything the app will do, but it has been easy to navigate so far. I love not having to spend a lot of time figuring out tones and as more and more tones are published the easier it will be to use. I love this thing.

.Line 6 needs to do a lot of upgrading with this software. Perhaps it was a co-insidence, but I swear it ruened TWO of my laptops. Left them both DEAD in the water. The software programs a complete nightmare and the sound of the amp is just plain too artificial. I'm sticking with tubes. This amp is just too digital in sound quality. Good luck, folks. I sent mine back. Thank God for MF's return policy, though! Excellent.
Line 6 AMPLIFi 150 150W Modeling Guitar Amp Black
.Kudos to Line6 for such an innovative product. First of all, this is not a tube amp and Line6 never claims it to be...so please don't try and compare this to tube amps. It synced to my 3rd Gen iPad instantly and very quickly found tone suggestions for all my songs...even some of my own band. Some were dead on perfect...others required a little tweaking to get them to my liking. This depends on what kind of guitar you have plugged in - single-coil Strat, humbucker Les Paul, etc. The Tone Editor does a great job and is very intuitive. The included instructions are pretty lame; they basically show you how to plug in your guitar, turn on the amp and sync to an iOS device. After that, you are on your own to find more information. Luckily, the Line6 website has helpful videos and a great user forum for info. I had to update my firmware from 1.02 to 2.01 to be able to play all of the 100 mfg presets. Originally, I only had the 4 presets. The upgrade was easy, following the instructions on the website. This thing is plenty loud and I think it has a great tone and endless possibilities. I use it mainly for practice and it serves that purpose expertly! Song reproduction through the five speakers is excellent.
