The Les Paul Express is the little Les Paul that roared. The Express captures the look, sound, and feel of a full size Les Paul but in a smaller package that's perfect for younger players and for travel.
Great Design Features
While the new LP-Express is still a true Les Paul at heart, EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e incorporated some unique design features to ensure that the guitar performs well for beginners as well as professionals looking for a travel guitar. While the body is made from mahogany like most classic Les Pauls, the neck on the Express is Hard maple as opposed to a traditional mahogany neck. This gives the guitar a little more high-end "bite" or brighter tone which effectively offsets the slightly looser string tension due to the shorter scale length. Additionally, the combination of the fully-adjustable "fixed" bridge with a string-through body design fits perfectly on the smaller sized body while adding sustain and making string changes a breeze. Finally, the neck is bolted in place securely using four recessed bolts set into a tapered heel making upper fret access easy and comfortable.
Classic Les Paul Sound
The Les Paul Express features an EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e 650R humbucker in the neck position and an EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e 700T in the bridge position. Both pickups share the same qualities as Seth Lover's original PAF humbuckers of the late '50s and feature Alnico pickups that give you an infinite variety of tone colors and sounds.
Premium Additions
With the slightly looser string tension, its even more important to have great machine heads. EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e designed the new Express with premium, 14:1 ratio die-cast machine heads to give you excellent tuning accuracy and stability.

I have several EE-Epiphone-e instruments and the first thing I'll say is you can't go wrong with an Epi. This little axe has terrible tuners and strings on it that will not allow it to stay in tune for very long or with very hard playing, but swap the strings for Elixirs and put mini Grover machine heads on it and you've got a mini Paul...I'd recommended this to anyone with a fair knowledge of setting up guitars.Epiphone Les Paul Express Electric Guitar Vintage Sunburst
.I've played for years and have been in several bands, would not hesitate to take this little fella up for a full set any day! I added a little mini Lea Paul pickguard I made and some chrome epiphone pickup covers for a vintage custom mini lp. Currently my favorite guitar, easy to just grab and jam on for a few minutes or a good enough quality instument to record with. I inspected it closely out of the box,
No blemishes on the beautiful warm tobacco burst finish, no buzzing or noise, just a clean clean little les Paul that shouts Gibson quality, I'm actually amazed at the lp tone this thing has at its size. Fun all the way.

I bought this to teach my son (10 yrs) to play and care for a musical instrument. Due to the smaller scale, too much pressure when pressing the strings can have a pitch bend effect. I chose to remove the springs from the adjustable bridge pieces for the 2 lowest strings to set the intonation correctly for open and fretted strings. This setup results in different locations for harmonics, but seems to work best as a beginner won't be using harmonics on purpose. This is a playable guitar with far better quality than I expected for the price. My son loves it and I'm jealous that he gets to start out on a Les Paul!Epiphone Les Paul Express Electric Guitar Vintage Sunburst
.I got this guitar for its size, as a travel guitar, partly because it was originally advertised as coming with a gig bag that was made for it. Apparently, that was a misprint; there was no gig bag.
I was doubtful about this guitar, for good reason. I couldn't get the saddles back far enough to get the intonation right, the 14:1 tuners are cheap & too low of a ratio, the fret tops are rough, and the body shape isn't quite what a Les Paul looks like.
I wouldn't recommend this guitar to anyone, especially a beginner, because getting it in tune was impossible, for me at least...I returned the one I ordered.
I have 2 EE-Epiphone-es, a Nighthawk & a Wildkat, & they are so far beyond this waste of material I am surprised and disappointed that EE-Epiphone-e would put their name on something so poorly thought out, unless the one I got was a lemon...

.The truth is I have been playing live for over 25 years. The majority of EE-Epiphone-e guitars have innotation problems and the guitar rarely stays in tune. This is why so many famous musicians endorse epiphone but play gibson such as slash ace frehley and tommy thayer and the list goes on. So my 18 year old son asked me to buy ian epiphone lp copy for his birthday. The pickups sound good.

.For the money this is a great guitar. Yes, it could probably use some new tuners if played as your regular guitar, but for a spare and "beat up" guitar these tuners will work just fine. For the money I'm very satisfied with this purchase. It will serve as an excellent back-up guitar where I don't want to take my main guitar, an EE-Epiphone-e Les Paul Custom Pro, and also sounds pretty good to boot for the price. This will be my camping, beach, travel and toss around guitar.

.Arrived with inop toggle switch. Bridge pickup would not work. Have new part on order which adds more money to the cost of the guitar. This guitar was not inspected to see if it worked correctly at the factory or at EE-Epiphone-e. Maybe buy this at a store so you can check to see if everything works.

.Too soon to tell. Needs new strings. I read to use heavier gauge ones like .011 or 0.12. Just ordered some Jazz stings. Needs intonation work. Fun to play. Pick-ups sound good. Neck and frets very good! Not sure about bridge yet. Also, read that one should tune 1/2 step up for a 3/4 size guitar. I like it so far. I wonder how functional it will be.?? I think it will be fine once I make a few adjustments. Looks great!

.Good little guitar. Bought it mainly to play Rocksmith on my ps3. I wanted a smaller guitar because I sit in an easy chair when I play the game and it workes well for that.

.Once I put new strings on, I could tell it would never play in tune from the factory set up. I had to move back all the saddles to set proper intonation (this is common on cheap guitars) The "B" string was so bad I also had to augment the nut with a small piece of black plastic to avoid playing sharp at the first 3 frets. Once done, it now plays like a dream!
