The PRO-1 Classic is modeled after the world's top classical guitars and features the same tonewoods used to make the best classical instruments. Classical guitars are renown for offering players incredible tone. And the PRO-1 Classic's balanced sound and PRO features makes it easy for a new player to discover their unique "voice" on guitar.
The PRO-1 Classic has a Select Cedar top with beautiful 4-layer Black and Ivory binding and features all of the PRO Collection's breakthrough innovations. EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e, one of the world's oldest and most respected guitar makers, has just made playing and learning guitar easy for everyone.
Designed by Professionals to be easy to play
Creating a truly easy-to-play guitar wasn't easy. EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e takes making a great guitar seriously, no matter what the player's level. So, EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e rethought the guitar from top to bottom to make an instrument that anyone can play right away. The result is a truly "PRO" guitar that's easy to play, easy to own, and most importantly, delivers the full, vibrant sound that EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e is known for. The PRO-1 Classic is the result of exhaustive analysis, numerous technological innovations, and suggestions from a "who's who" of professional players.
Less fatigue
Wrap your hand around the PRO-1 Classical neck and you'll immediately feel how comfortable it is. The new EZ-Profile neck is designed so your hand can easily form chords without feeling fatigued.
Effortless Fretting
EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e JumboPRO frets make fretting notes and chords seem effortless. JumboPRO frets are taller and wider than smaller frets. So, when you push down a string, it's easier to make string contact with the fret with less hand fatigue and finger friction.
Shorter is Easier
Scale length is the distance from the saddle to the nut. The shorter the scale length, the "looser" the strings feel. Because the PRO-1's scale length is almost 1" shorter than most acoustic guitars, the strings are under less tension so you don't have to press hard to get good tone. And - since the frets are closer together-- making chords is easier!
Make friction fiction
String and fingerboard friction not only slows your playing but also can hurt. The PRO-Ease string and fingerboard coating provides sleek, smooth action with reduced string noise.
No pain, no gain?
Nonsense-EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e believes in "no pain." Lighter gauge strings are easier to play so every PRO-1 is set-up and equipped with EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e Ultra-Light strings.
Easy action
With EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e's Dual-Action truss rod, you can adjust the neck in both directions, which not only stabilizes the neck but also makes set-up easier and more precise.
And now it' time to play. Order today.

I could not find a single flaw in the finish and the guitar is beautiful once you unscrew the cheap looking metal EE-Epiphone-e license plate logo. This is my first nylon string guitar and I thought it was a good idea to buy a nylon string guitar with a more narrow neck, more like a steel string guitar. That was my mistake. I wish now I had purchased a traditional nylon string guitar with medium frets, a wider neck, and lower action. I am keeping the guitar because I don't like sending things back, but would suggest sticking with steel strings if that is what you are in to, or going full force traditional nylon classical. I don't think the nylon-steel crossover thing really works. If you want nylon, get a traditional Spanish or Brazilian style guitar. Also, you want a full scale guitar that has all the required frets, not a short scale.Epiphone PRO-1 Classical Acoustic Guitar Antique Natural
.The guitar is beautiful. Came with kinda cheap factory strings (which isn't a big deal) This would be a great guitar to take hiking or play around the house. Not as much for use in the studio though.

.Perfect for the non-classical music player. Slim steel string type neck allows you to work on your finger picking. Marginally acceptable tone. Nice quality for the modest price as all EE-Epiphone-es are known for. Classical guitarists would be disappointed, tho. Different standards, eh?

.I like the idea, but please know that 1.75 width at nut is very very tight for classical strings. Nylons move so much side-to-side. Most all classics start at 2". Plus, the actual grooves in the Epi nut make the spacing that much worse, and It can not be played stock without sounding extremely muted and muddy, especially doing finger picking. The stock 1.75 nut is grooved and spaced to only 1.3/8; much tighter than my LL10 Yamaha dreadnaught acoustic (1.11/16 nut with 1.5 spacing) & same as my Strat (1 5/8 nut, 1.3/8 spacing) Crazy how the top and bottom E are set so far in from the neck edges. If it hadn't been so pretty and cheap, I'd send it back. Now the task was to make it at least playable. I popped the nut and replaced with a new ungrooved 1.75 nut, matched nut height, then grooved it the same as my 1.75 nut The Loar which has 1 9/16 string spacing on it's 1 3/4 nut. Next I had to widen the tie-holes in the bridge to let the strings space an extra 1/8 out at the bridge. Now the space between each string at the nut is 11/32 instead of the stock (and unplayable) 9/32. ( A normal 2' classic has 3/8 between each string). Still too much interference on the top 3 nylons, so I bought carbon 'high-tension' strings, and got it playing not too bad. I'm a normal sized adult with normal sized hands and play clean on a lot of different types of guitars. After 1/2 day fix, I can strum chords anywhere on the 12 fret neck no problem, and can fingerpick it OK, but I have to be very careful and deliberate below the 7th or notes will get slightly muted by finger interference. It's a well built guitar, nice tuners, funky logo, pretty thing, but a bit of a hybrid neck-width concept, and, if you can't do a lot of setup work, I'd recommend, if you order, looking closely at the string spacing, and then playing it for 10 minutes before putting away the packing box. I never do a new idea,no-play order from anybody but MF because they would have taken it back but I liked it&the challenge

.Based on EE-Epiphone-e's own videos, I expected MUCH more. This is a budget instrument, true, but it felt and sounded like a cheapo. I own several other guitars: electric, acoustic and classical - all priced similarly so I have a good reference.(Yamaha CG-40 as an example)
This instrument is specifically supposed to be easy to play. Watch EE-Epiphone-e's video's to learn how it is supposed to be unique in that sense.
One of the features is Ultra Light strings which I like - that was pleasant as expected.
The action was set up high. That may have been the most troubling factor considering low action is one of the features mentioned in the video.
MF suggested I should change the strings (?!) and tune the action but that beats the purpose doesn't it? The cost of tuning is unreasonable compared to the initial cost, as is the expectation that I should to spend time and money to get it to do what it was advertised to.
Shipped it back. There are far better instruments at the same price range.
