The EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e AJ-100CE Acoustic-Electric Guitar brings the look and sound of the Advanced Jumbo to everyone. Guitar comes with standard AJ features such as a select spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and a rosewood fingerboard. The AJ-100CE includes a cutaway body style and the Nanoflex pickup for electric amplification.
NanoFlex pickup
The term "Nanoflex" refers to its ultra thin (nano-like) profile and its flexibility that allows it to conform to any surface shape. This assures complete guitar-to-pickup-to-saddle contact. Unlike other undersaddle pickups, the Nanoflex design utilizes 7 highly-sensitive and ultraresponsive layers of sensor material to not only sense the vibrations of the strings but the vibrations of the guitar body as well. The Nanoflex is the first pickup to incorporate active amplification directly at the pickup. As a result, the signal does not pass through even a single millimeter of the wire and therefore, the signal quality is uncompromised.

Good guitar, cheap electronics.I have several EE-Epiphone-e and Gibson guitars, and I have played guitar and pedal steel for nearly 40 years. This one has a very good acoustic sound, however the electronics are a little on the cheap side. The sound is very tinny with very little bass quality and there is no way to adjust it except for the controls on the amp. Overall, it is a good instrument, I just wish EE-Epiphone-e would put more into the electronics. I bought an EJ 200CE about 2 years ago and had the same problem until I replaced the control panel and one of the pickups. I will eventually upgrade the electronics on this guitar.
Overall quality of the guitar itself is very good. I will adjust the action to be more like a Gibson though by lowering the bridge about 1/64"
If you are using this guitar acoustically, it is a good value with very good acoustic sound.

.Very nice guitar overall, but has a few small problems. A few tips for beginners, this will sound terrible directly out of the box, but as with any new guitar, you should change the strings, that will remedy the sound problems. The action is very high as well, so a professional tune/set up would be a good idea as well. The sound is a slightly less-huge Gibson, in all reality. The mids are still clear, the highs are clear and bright, but not brassy or ringy, and the bass is big. This guitar was worth its money plus some, and I would reccomend this to anyone looking for a guitar at and affordable price..
There are some features missing, but that is to be expected in a guitar ion this price range. There are no active electronics, preamp, equalizer, controls, tuner, bone saddle/nut, decent tuners. Now, what is there can be kinda surprising. Solid spruce top, laminated mahogany back and sides, solid mahogany neck, half-decent finish, great neck, etc. All-in-all, very well fitted for a guitar in this price range.
Have had to replace one thing, and that's the tuners, which I expected. I've had this guitar for about two years now, and am still happy with it, more or less. Body and neck are super solid, and the finish is alright, but chips too easily.
Overall, a very nice guitar for the money paid. Would buy another one if something happened to this one, just because funds are tight, and it's the best guitar for a price I might be able to live with.

.I bought the AJ-100CE and the case (alson made by EE-Epiphone-e) during the same purchase so my guitar came packed in the case. This guitar is big! Perfect for a big guy. After tuning the guitar everything played perfectly fine, right out of the box. I found no flaws in the finish or craftsmanship. I have two older acoustic OM style guitars and the sound from this one is a lot brighter and considerably louder. I will be changing out the strings for something a little less "jangly" sounding.
I'll be using it primarily for leading our youth group in praise in worship and figured since we plug into a mixer at church the lack of EQ on the guitar won't be a problem. It will also come in handy for those trips that have an "unplugged" atmosphere, like camping in the summer or the cabin for skiing this winter.

.I did not know that a guitar this cheap could sound and feel so good.I have 2 Guitar Centers in my area. I sample $300 to $600 guitars all the time. for some reason i always past up the EE-Epiphone-es. my brother came down on vacation and brought an EE-Epiphone-e DR-100. I could not stop playing it! i wanted one but with electric hook up. i would recommend this guitar over many $400 guitars I've played. I'm not saying it sounds better then them , but just as good for half the price.

.I order the AJ100-CE/N Guitar and received the guitar before it was do.the boxes were in good shape not beat up. and they were well packed. on opening the guitar was perfect I could not find a thing wrong with it. Tune it and had a friend that has played a lot longer then I, and he could not belive how well it played and sounded, we played through three defirent amps, and it sounded Great on all three. It is a Great Guitar no matter the money.

.I received this guitar as a Christmas gift. As I opened the box, my son. an adult, remarked on how shiny it was. After almost a month of playing, I am pleased with the gift. After changing strings and adding brass saddle pins, the sound of this budget guitar came alive. The action was good out of the box, and so playability was not a problem. The quality of such a low-priced guitar is amazing, though I did find one tiny flaw that does not in any way affect playability. I especially love the cutaway on this model- I found my fingers going places in the upper frets that I have always dreamed of going but never could because of the rounded bouts on my other acoustics.
Like others who have reviewed this model, I found the lack of an on-board EQ a bit puzzling. I remedied this situation by purchasing a Behringer V-Tone Acoustic ADI 21 DI box, which acts as an tone/level controller. The V-Tone ADI 21 works well, and, like the guitar, didn't cost an arm and a leg. This combination affords me the flexibility I need for recording, which is my main application, aside from songwriting.
I have always been partial to the EE-Epiphone-e brand (in all, I have previously owned over ten EE-Epiphone-e guitars, and currently own six) and this inexpensive model packs a lot of value. Great for a beginner or the intermediate player looking for an extra strumming guitar. I am very happy with this guitar.

.The guitar is really good, although lithe neck did come in dry and the action was really high, I had to clean and adjust the truss but once that was finished the guitar sounded pretty good for its price, I enjoy the sound of the guitar with its thicker body, it gives a more warmer sound and is perfect the playing I do. As for the sound of the pick up, I tend to use a pedal to adjust the sound to fit my desired sound, but it's a pretty decent pickup in my opinion.

.This is a great guitar for the price. Good action and surprisingly good quality construction. The electric pickup quality is a little poor, distorting somewhat when played through an amp. However, I bought it mainly for the capability of easily getting to notes above the 12th fret, so the pickup was a secondary consideration.

.I purchased this new in box from a person who ordered it from Custom Guitar's Friend and never even tuned it. The factory strings were terrible and the action was high. I installed a set of light strings and sanded 1/16" off the bottom of the bridge. Now it frets nicely and has great tone. My only complaint is that the neck is a bit narrow. Other than that It's a great guitar. I'd buy one at the regular price.
