I really don't know how they built such a great guitar for the price of this thing. It sounds awesome in drop C and drop B tunings, just an absolute blast to come up with riffs on. What really amazed me was how good the guitar sounded clean. It has fantastic tone and wonderful control with the on board electronics and the pickups. The only thing I didn't like was the output jack keeps wanting to come apart. Another thing to look at is the weight of this thing. Its not a light guitar, so if you're going to be playing long sets, you might want to look at something different. I've been playing bass for years so its a non issue for me. I never played with the factory strings, so I have no idea how they sound. I always swap strings before I play a new instrument.Epiphone Goth Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar Black
.I play 3 different guitars on stage, i have a sammick Greg Bennet explorer that i use for backup and ibanez strat style for different sound, but this one is my main guitar, and for good reason, it sounds awesome, it plays smooth, the cleans are warm and full at the neck and bright and cutting at the bridge. with the classic les paul wiring you can get just about any sound you want out of this, ive played it next to a Gibson Les Paul, and as far as feel goes, its almost exactly the same. dont be taken back by the Goth name, while you can get some of the best metal distorstion sounds out of this guitar, my band plays mostly classic rock and a bit of thrash, and i couldent ask for a more versital guitar.if your looking for a LP, and dont have the cash, this is the guitar for you, ive owned it for close to 10 years now, the only problem i have ever experienced with it was some shoty wiring within the first year, but i took the back plate off, re soldered, and has been good ever since. .I thought I would buy this guitar as a back up guitar; It looks cool and is priced right. I was very surprised at the quality of it right out of the box. It is solid! The tone is awesome and the feel is great. This is every bit as good as a Gibson Studio. I don't care much for the cut out switch, it isn't to my liking; but that is a very small con. I would recomend this to anyone on a budget who wants a great rock or metal guitar. You won't be disappointed!

.1st is the look WOW the matte finish n all black hardwear make this the best looking guitar in EE-Epiphone-e line (my opinion) the guitar didnt come "setup" the best but my local guitar shop wit 30+ years of experience said it was so close not to worry till I bring it in for a restringing the volume knob on guitar was loose but it was 1/2 second fix no biggie!!!

I bought mine almost 2 months ago and it has become my No#1.go to guitar . I can not believe that a Les Paul can sound this darn good for such a low price. I got mine brand new and was pleasantly pleasd at the quality of this fine instrument. The stock Alnico Classic Humbuckers cover a wide array of sounds ranging from Blues to of course, Metal . Once set up properly, the Grover tuners will keep this baby in tune forever and the weight of this is very light for a Les Paul, which is a comfort to somebody of amy age ( 54 ). I am playing it through my vintage 1989 Peavey Bandit 112 along with my Digitech RP-50 and I never get tired of playing it . This guitar with the amp and processor I just listed, make a deadly combination and will blow the smoke off of anybody's eardrums within a mile. I love the Celtic Cross outline and the Roman numeral XII inlay on the 12th fret which IMO, make this guitar stand out from your standard EE-Epiphone-e. All in all, this is one great deal for either a beginner or someone who is on a low budget who always wanted a Les Paul . I just got this guitar the other day and it is absolutely phenomenal!!! I have always wanted a Les Paul but could never afford one; I always thought that the EE-Epiphone-e version would be less than par. I was WRONG!!! The goth Les Paul Studio is a work of art with an attitude. It sounds GREAT!!! All of the craftmanship that went into this guitar is perfect, every detail is spot on. This thing is so goth it breathes fire and *#@&s brimstone!!! The satin finish is set off by the glossy hardware so that it is all black without being TOO black. .This was my first guitar in 20 years, and it was definitely the best guitar I could have picked to get back into it! The setup out of the box wasn't good, but then again, not many are. A good setup should be first on anyone's list any time they purchase a guitar.Visually, this guitar is a definite eye-catcher. I get compliments from everyone who sees it. The stripped-down, bare-bones approach really works. The only thing I've considered changing is adding black pickup covers, since the open-pickup look doesn't really appeal to me.Once set up properly, I could honestly evaluate the instrument. Pickups are more than adequate for just about anything you could want them for. If you think they're weak, get a distortion pedal. Problem solved, and cheaper than a new set of pickups. Controls are standard Les Paul fare. Pots are fairly sensitive, and seem to have a fairly even amount of control through the entire range. The switch has a satisfyingly solid feel, and the input jack has given me no issues whatsoever. No unusual sounds from the pots when I adjust them up to this point, so they're pretty dust resistant. The honest-to-Gibson Grover tuners are a nice touch, and once the guitar is set up, they hold tuning as if nailed in place.The sound is where this guitar really shines. The tone is warm and full, and the sustain is everything one would expect from a Les Paul. Personally, I think the stock pickups are fantastic, and people that change them out don't take the time to listen to the stock ones. I've been offered a trade by a professional musician for a $3,000 Mollenhauer LP copy. This guitar will play jazz, blues, rock and metal with equal ease. It'll whisper or scream, whichever you want it to. The sound through even a decent amp is warm, rich, full and articulate. Harmonics are incredible. Does a Gibson sound better? Yes, but I can't honestly justify paying 6-10 times the price when the difference isn't worth that much. Do yourself a favor - check this one out.

.Overall this thing is amazing. you get a guitar that does everything and does it well. the distorted tone blew me away but when i heard the clean tone through my Marshall Valvestate....i had to look down to see if i was playing an acoustic or not. it sounded THAT good. I recommend it to anyone who wants a good les paul without the les paul price.
I got this guitar two days ago and it is just amazing. The seperate volumes for the pickups make it great to go from distorted to clean with a flick of the switch. The only thing lacking is that i can't seem to find this killswitch in the tone pot.
It's only day two. So I haven't really seen anything that would make me doubt the quality yet. I'm sure it will hold up for years to come.
I traded in my EE-Epiphone-e SG Les Paul Custom for this and am very satisfied with the trade. The sound is just great for the price.

.I gave this guitar a full rating because it has everything I've been looking for in a guitar I also use a fender strat made in mexico that I customized with lace sensors hot gold pickups for the neck and mid pick ups and for the bridge I put an 13.2 k extra hot gold lace it has a killer sound by its self but when I record the songs I write I use the les paul for rythem and lead and I use the strat for rythem
it sounds melodic and dark sweet sorrow as I call the sound that they make when recorded with eachother for the les paul I plan on customizing it with Tony Iommi pickups and 500k pots with great shielding and bumble bee capasitors it doesn't need these changes really I just like the way the Iommi's sound
oh and there's an instrument cable in the box with it I thought that was a nice touch by epiphone
another thing about the les paul it has great sustain and harmonics the base responce is beautiful as well and the high end is very clean and clear I play through a line 6 spider II and that amp is kind of old I've had it for ever I plan on getting a peavey windsor tube amp so I can hear everything and all the versatility this beautiful guitar has to offer
once again EE-Epiphone-e has raised the bar just beautiful
for the price you can't get a better guitar than this one
in my opinion the guitar has a sweet sound with the factory pickups and tone and volume pots are nice and smooth too
