this is my 4th guitar, and by far the best. it looks great, and of course, sounds FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC. i have hade it for 3 days, and have been surprised! no one who buys this will be disapointed.
the strings it comes with are not the greatest, though they do sound nice

BUY THIS, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPOINTED!!!!!!!!!!!!

.awesome...enough said.
Just picked this up at guitar center. tried out the gibson sg standard and ultimately went towards this because of price and comfort. its really good for the money. Gonna swap out the pickups down the road, but thats a more personal prefrence than anything. I'd recomend this to anyone looking for a good SG
Not bad at all. light weight, smooth neck, good tone, ect.
Pickups arent my taste, but then again im always dissatisfied with stock pickups.

.Very Happy with the Guitar- A 10 means, for this price range that this is a great guitar for the value---
If I was reviewing a Gibson or Martin - the numbers for review would be set for the price range of the guitar and what is in the same class of guitars. Well worth all of the pennies I saved.
Nice looks- light weight- I am a Acoustic Man- decided if I got an electric - it could not weigh a ton -like most soild bodies do. Yet still it is soild built. something if it fell I would not expect any damage.
everything perfect - no flaws - everything working well - no complaints
I have played high end Electrics - that do not compare to the looks and sound of this guitar.

.I wanted the Gibson SG but is pricey so I decided to give EPI SG a chance. I played both the Gibson and EE-Epiphone-e SG Special through a Marshall MG50CFX to compare both. The only thing the EPI-SG is missing is a clearer tone and punch that the Gibson SG has but the EPI still has great pick-ups. For the price, you can't beat the EPI-SG Secial as an entry level and/or practicing guitar. Excellent quality, straight easy to play neck, no fret buzz or burrs and get this... STAYS IN TUNE, even after 2 hours of heavy playing!

As with any guitar, always play and inspect it before you buy one. This is the best guitar I have ever purchased at this price!

.I would only reccommend this guitar for a beginner or student.
Its just too cheaply built for anything but home use or practice.
I had this guitar for 6 months and I though it looked nice and had a good finish but I
thought it was cheaply built and setup up poorly.
The neck flexed alot and had a wierd noise in the lower neck area.
The finish was nice , tuners are cheap and were the kind you can't tighten.
goes out of tune alot and buzzes on e bass string .
It was a fair price compared to guitars in its class I guess
but I'd rather save for a better guitar.

.Buy knowing it will play better when modified. I bought guitar after trying out first and checking neck etc... I changed pick-ups, tuners, nut and filed G saddle. I love the weight and basswood tone for certain songs. Before you write a review and make yourself look silly.... I've read a ton of them! LEARN how to set up a guitar. This guitar plays as well as, if not better than some of my guitars that cost 5x as much! Make adjustments and mods to it .... the tone is great. I ALWAYS play an electric W/O an amp before I buy to "hear" tone first. This has it with my S.Duncan JH4/2 PU! If you are willing to put a little extra cash and time into it - it is well worth the play. The weight of it alone is worth the extra effort. BUY Dan Erlewiens book "how to make you electric guitar play great" you can do it yourself. I replied no cons because I bought with intention of modifying to my liking.

.I am very happy with this guitar. It came right out of the box pretty well set up. For the masses anyhow.
Took about ten minutes to set up for my preference and intonation was very close right out of the box also. Its very comfortable to play and sounds great. I find myself playing more. I just got it but I can see already that I'm going to grab this one over my others very often. In my opinion you can't get a better guitar for the money.
Epiphone SG-Special Electric Guitar Cherry
.its a great guitar,it has an awsome design,it can be loud and buzz free if you change the original strings,it stays in tune for a long time(which is important for me),and it has a great value!!!!!if you have been looking for a band and just dont have a good eletric guitar then buy this one!!!!ever since i got it ive started a band its nothin big yet but it will be so be lookin out!!!!!!oh and one last time BUY THIS GUITAR YOU WONT BE SORRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it has awsome features the, nobs actually have a lot of effect unlike most eletric guitars, and the switch don't get me started I don't know if you will have the same effects as I do cause I have a lower priced Ibanez amp so its pretty good but if you got a pretty good amp and you put it on the right sound and then you put the switch on rythm it makes a noise that sounds exactly like sweet child o mine!!!
The quality of the guitar when it came in the package really suprised me. I figured it would be all torn up and the strings would be off and stuff but it wasnt it looks exactly like it does on the picture except its a little bit smaller then you will probably excpect from a sg. The reason why I rated it a 8 is because it makes a buzzing noise if you like to play your amp real loud(like me)and I know its not the amp, but if you asked me just replace the strings I dont know what string wait you're use to so I wont say that part
the value is a steal i see epiphones and gibson sg's all the time in music stores and they're exactly the same size and they can cost more than this, so dont be stupid and buy this guitar!!!!!
Epiphone SG-Special Electric Guitar Cherry
.From the moment I opened the box, I loved it. It has an amazing sound for being an off brand. The only suggestion I'd have is replacing the strings shortly after using them. Other than that the guitar is perfect and looks great. Sounds even better. It's a steal for the price.

.This is the first new guitar I've ever bought although I have an older Fender style axe. First off this was packaged so well I think it would've survived a fall from 11000 feet. Felt incredible to pick it up for the first time. It came with strings and although they are thicker than what I'm used to they are fine for what I'm using it for. I am a true beginner so I'm still learning every thing. It's fun to grab and just finger the chords on even without plugging it in. Color is beautiful ( I got the black ) Service from MF was great. I'm sure there is better out there but for the price at this time it's hard to beat. Well designed. Fine tuning the tune is easy. String to fret board distance is adjustible so if it's a little off it can be corrected. By all means check all this stuff out. The pickups sound good. I've read other reviews that stated stuff about the sound. with my 38 year old ears it sounds good. Great sustains and clear sound. It's actually easier for me to play this than my old Fender style. I've made more progress the last week than the last 2 months. Love it and I'll be looking for other's when I can afford it and my playing is better.
