Combining high-end sound and wide-ranging versatility, the RV-6 takes pedal-based reverb to the next level. Reaching beyond the capabilities of previous generations, this powerful stomp employs the latest tech and legendary BOSS know-how to make it easy to get amazing reverb tones instantly. From subtle rooms to modern shimmer effects to long, evocative reverbs, the RV-6 envelops your tone in lush ambient spaces that endlessly inspire.
Simply Great-Sounding Reverbs
Packing the latest BOSS DSP and updated algorithms, the RV-6 gives you eight highly musical reverb effects in one compact pedal. Add body and depth to your core tone with standards like Room, Hall, and Plate, dial up swirling richness with the Modulate setting, or surf it up with a vintage-style Spring reverb. Dynamic mode automatically adjusts the effect depth to your playing touch, providing deep, immersive reverb that wont turn your tone to mud. And modern players will love the new Shimmer and Reverb+Delay modes.
Dialed-In Sounds at Your Command
The RV-6 makes getting high-quality reverb sounds with your guitar quick and easy”just select a sound mode, tweak the knobs to taste, and play. But while its operation is simple, the RV-6s sound is rich and sophisticated. Under the hood, each mode includes a huge array of detailed reverb parameters, all perfectly tuned for guitar by the BOSS engineers with direct input from many pro players and engineers. Even as you adjust the selected mode with the Time and Tone knobs, many parameters are simultaneously adjusted inside to create the ideal voicing for every setting.
Analog Dry Tone and Versatile I/O
While the RV-6s reverb effects are high-tech digital, you can rest assured that your straight guitar tone always remains pure analog as the effect is blended in. Convenient auto-switching jacks let you integrate with any pedal chain, with support for mono, mono-to-stereo, and stereo-to-stereo operation. And by plugging into the B input only, the RV-6 outputs a 100-percent wet sound, great for working with more complex rigs that employ parallel processing chains and mixers. Theres also a jack for connecting an optional expression pedal, allowing you to control the effect level in real time as you play.

If your familiar with the previous model and felt that it fell a little short , you will be happy with this model. It is the Swiss army knife of reverb. All of the models sound great. Everything tweaks really well. No tone loss. The newly added models are awesome. It works well anywhere but totally shines in the effects loop. You wont get hardcore surf or anything like that but its not too far off. There are only a handful of reverbs that compare to it and most of those do one thing and most cost a bit more. With the RV-6 you get it all and it is priced very fairly compared to any and all the others. I would of given it a 4 even though it really is an overall solid pedal, just not my end all be all. But the price / quality factor earns it an extra star. Nice to see Boss stepping back up after all of these years.Boss RV-6 Digital Delay/Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal
.The RV-6 is very solid. The standard reverbs are good. Plate, Room, Hall, Spring are all good and useable in performance or recording. The Modulate is good too but i'd like a little more modulation in the blend. It's there but more subtle. The Delay setting is awesome to have if you want a simple Delay setting without having to add a second pedal to your board. Very forward thinking on Boss' part. I like the Delay. It basically sounds like the 800ms Delay setting from the DD-7. Then we come to Shimmer. Shimmer is like adding a synthesizer on top of your guitar sound. It's really really cool!!! If you have the Roland EV-5 you can connect it to the EXP input and add/subtract Shimmer as you play live. It sounds awesome. The EV-5 can basically do the same thing with all the modes. The first four Reverbs i mentioned are your standard ambient reverbs but Shimmer is like something you'd use as a standout effect in a song. It really makes the pedal interesting. Finally, I saved the best for last. Dynamic is my favorite effect on this pedal. Dynamic responds to your strumming intensity, hence the title, and so the harder you strum the more it backs off. The lighter you strum the more it engages. The sound is like a sweeping ambient lush reverb filling a stadium and lifting the music into the stratosphere. I'm telling you, I absolutely love Dynamic!!! Especially with Stereo output. There are so many ways to use the RV-6 that I think anyone who can't use it doesn't know what they are doing. To get the sound you want you have to play with the pedal and your gear, but the sound you want is in there! I looked at the Strymon Blue Sky and I can see that Boss is trying to make a pedal like that. If you must have a Strymon I say go for it but you'll shell out double. If you're on a budget, this pedal is definitely the way to go. I really don't think you can find a better Reverb pedal for less. This is the one. Great job Boss!!!
Boss RV-6 Digital Delay/Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal
.You know that you have something good when a pedal inspires you play better and inspires new creativity. That's what the Boss RV-6 does! Not only does it give you your traditional Spring, Hall, Room reverbs but a plethora of new sounds with modulation, dynamic, shimmer and shimmer with delay. I let a friend of mine play on it who is a reverb freak who had his heart set on buying the Cathedral pedal. After playing on it and considering the price he's pretty much set on the RV-6. Well done Boss.
Boss RV-6 Digital Delay/Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal
.HAD A RV-2. IT WENT SOUTH, SO I BOUGHT THE RV-6, USE IT ON A STEEL GUITAR AMP THAT HAS NO REVERB.
Boss RV-6 Digital Delay/Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal
.Not as great as everyone says it is. Some of the reverbs are unuseable.
Boss RV-6 Digital Delay/Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal
.This product is awesome. I cannot see flaws right now. It works perfectly fine with an acoustic guitar.
Boss RV-6 Digital Delay/Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal
.The rv6 is a very versatile reverb pedal. All out the sounds are good but... if I'm honest sometomes it is easy to forget which setting you are on. Plate, spring, room and hall all sound good but aren't very distinct from each other. The mod setting is pleasant and one of the best modes on the pedal in my opponion. The shimmer setting is nice if the tone control is set fairly low, but it isn't an effect I'm into personally. The +delay setting isn't bad but I think most people would rather have a seperate delay pedal with more features. The one thing I really love about this pedal though is the dynamic setting. To my ears it sounds like the modulated setting but richer and more responsive to your dynamics. I love arpegiating chords with it and hitting certain strings harder than other to make certain notes ring out. It is a very expressive. Overall it is a well made pedal, but with the exception of the dynamic setting it is a 'jack of all trades master of none' reverb. I can't say I wouldn't recommend it, but i would also recommend checking out some other reverbs (the mxr and neunaber come to mind) before making a final decision.
Boss RV-6 Digital Delay/Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal
.Overall, a really nice unit. Mine had a sticky knob, which may have gotten worse with time, but I returned it. The shimmer is a great idea, but the balance between shimmer and reverb is not adjustable. The shimmer would have to be much lower in the balance for me to have a use for it. The Mooer Shimverb has an adjustable balance. Makes all the difference. If Boss's next version offers it, I'll be buying it. Till then, any old reverb will do.
Boss RV-6 Digital Delay/Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal
.Does exactly what I want , excellent purchase for the money.
Boss RV-6 Digital Delay/Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal
.Much improved. Every setting is better than previous versions. Delay/reverb is back. Spring reverb is surf city.
