When I bought this, I was thinking it would switch to different effects on the amp. It only knocks the effect you have dialed in "off or on" on either channel, (instrument or mic). On this one I had, it would knock the effect off on the mic side when pressing the instrument side. Strange. These functions were pretty useless for my needs. .The footswitch is a handy item to have so you don't have to walk back and forth from your acoustasonic amp to turn the effects on/off. My opinion is that it is over priced for its limited functionality. You can not select different effects with the footswitch. To do that you have to physically change the effect from those available on the amp settings. I realize Fender is looking for profit and selling the the unit separately adds to their bottom line, but for the cost of the Acoustasonic 150, the footswitch should be included with the amp. I tried a couple of other footswitches that I have for another Fender amp and they do not work with the Acoustasonic 150 amplifier.
