The instrument takes the classic '60s-era sun-and-fun Malibu folk-style acoustic and dresses it up with a graceful heart-shaped rosette designed by the band, as seen gracing the cover of 2011 acoustic album Damnesia.
Premium features include a richly resonant all-mahogany body with the aforementioned AT-designed heart-shaped rosette, scalloped X bracing, C-shape maple Stratocaster neck with a 20-fret rosewood fretboard, body and neck binding, rosewood bridge with synthetic bone compensated saddle, chrome hardware and gloss neck and body finish.

Guitar is beautiful there is no doubt about that! But, Fender really didnt catch the detail on this like they should have. The print around the sound hole has noticable flaws, along with the binding and the finish where the neck meets the body.The sound itself is not bad ONCE you change the strings and set the neck. I found Med. Elixers are giving the the fullest most consistant sound (after spending $50+ in strings before I was happy. It has a very twangy cheap sound with the extremely thin strings that come on it
All in all Im happy...now. It plays good, sounds good and demands attn from any ALK3 fan. Stays in tune pretty well. And is beyond unique. I would buy again and reccommend to a friend. Only wish it was available in acoustic electric option!

.This fun little guitar has a great feel - slightly smaller body allows for a comfortable fit for learners who may need to do a bit more "leaning over and looking" than a skilled player. And it is a beautiful piece of art. We purchased the cherry finish Fender wood hanging stand as well, and it is a lovely piece of art in the room when not being played. Excellent purchase for a beginner who wants a little style and a lot of comfort.

.I got this guitar only because I am a huge alkaline trio fan. The guitar came a lot faster than I expected, out of the box it was ready to go. I really like the Malibu style acoustic, its fun and easy to play. After restringing its perfect small but still has a overall good tone.

.I have been playing Fender guitars since the mid 1960's. I was surprised that this one did not exhibit Fender's high level of quality, I replaced the strings immediately with a set of Good strings. I am very disappointed that no amount of adjustment in the neck will remove the string rattle and buzz. I expected quality like my telecaster, or my Santa Maris 12 string.
