Product Features

Bassbreaker series guitar amplifiers continue Fender's storied lineage with a kind of "parallel evolution" that evokes the dawn of hard rock. Bassbreaker breaks away from tradition with features that add up to pure tube greatness. Powerful and unpretentious, the Bassbreaker 007 packs quite a punch for its size.

Fueled by a pair of 12AX7 preamp tubes and a single EL84 power tubes for 7 watts of true Class-A amplification, the Bassbreaker 007 Combo features traditional gain and tone controls, and an interesting option—switchable vintage-style treble booster for increased overdrive and added harmonics. Higher gain settings of the 007 are just plain fun, but never mask the dynamics and identity of the guitar.

The onboard 1/4" line output connects directly to recording gear or a larger amp. Bold visual touches include block Fender logo, dark grey lacquered tweed covering, leatherette handle and big, bold pointer knobs.

Loaded with complex, refined sound, the agile Bassbreaker 007 Combo provides delectable crunch that's shaken, not stirred. Add the optional booster footswitch and protective amp cover to complete this globe-hopping ensemble.

Features Include
•Moderately sized, with 7 watts of big tone
•Single EL84 power tube, true class “A” operation Vintage-style treble-booster circuit switch on front panel for extra gain and harmonics (also operated by optional single-button footswitch)
•Line output (1/4”) for use with recording equipment or larger amp
•Single 10” Celestion® Ten Thirty speaker

Bassbreaker Series

The late-'50s tweed-covered Fender Bassman is often called the grandfather of all guitar amps. What started earlier that decade as the companion amp for the Precision Bass actually became one of the most beloved guitar amps of all time, thanks to its simplicity and versatility, its wide dynamic range and warm tube overdrive, its full-frequency stage-filling power and its rugged roadworthiness.

Fender tweed amps evolved into the brown, blonde, blackface and silverface models of the 1960s. Along with the dramatic evolution of their look, the amps were redesigned each time to sound brighter and cleaner.

New Bassbreaker Series guitar amplifiers continue that fascinating lineage with yet another sound and style, a kind of "parallel evolution" in which time-honored Fender amp DNA results in a satisfyingly dirtier tone that evokes the dawn of hard rock.

The new series takes the 45-watt 1959 Bassman design and breaks it with features including the early Fender block-letter logo, black tweed covering, and refined pointer knobs plus power tubes hinting at the U.K. amps that "borrowed" Fender circuits in the 1960s. The sound is one of pure and unadulterated tube greatness.

Great El84 tube sound with a wide spectrum of tonal possibilities. Master volume, gain, tone, bass and mids coupled with the tone button really provide the options. 7 Watt power perfect for work at home. Beautiful cabinet and clean design are aesthetically pleasing. Great sound, function, and value.

.Great little amp once you change the speaker and tubes. Original speaker was lack luster and sloppy, original tubes kind lifeless. Put in a Weber alnico 10 and EH and Tung sol tubes, a good amp turned into a monster. More Marshall than Fender but that suits me fine. The only thing that makes this better is a spring reverb otherwise, love it.

.I needed a backup amp for my regular rig, a late 70s Sliverface 50w Bassman head w cab. I had a Ac4Vox 4w amp for home use. I loved that amp, but it only had a 16ohm and never intended it as an emergency back up for gigs. Long story short, I needed it for that purpose and sufficed for the gig since it was miked, but I knew I needed something to plug into my cab...

Good: Love its sound, tone capabilities, volume levels, and so much more. To be honest, I have not nor needed to plug in any distortion, OD, or fuzz pedals to this amp yet. It can achieve just about any tone w a bit to it except for Metal and arguably its weakest tone capabilities is Fender clean...crazy right? Its hard to get loud clean headroom on this amp without a bit to it. Now I'm not saying its clean is bad; it's just not my Bassman, which has the famous Fender clean with ridiculous clean headroom, but it still has a cleaner sound than my vox did.But that's not a bad thing cause it means the amp is more responsive to how hard its attacked. Eq controls are great to have and make this amp better than its competition since many low watt tube amp do not have that feature. I will say they seem to be not quite as responsive pass 2 o'clock position. I like a lot of treble & bass. And since I love a lot of treble on my OD, the treble boost is AWESOME! Perhaps my favorite feature. When using higher gain, just activity it for lead. Works great w cab! it was plenty loud for band practice w no miking. Now it got drained out w a lot of heavy cymbals, but drummer was drunk so yea lol and well, its a 7w amp still. A plus was how quiet you can turn the amp down. Play it sometimes while my son naps.
Bad: Not much but will say its the 10" speaker. Not necessarily this one cause it sounds good. Just 10" speakers in general don't have enough bottom end
Ugly: Out line. I haven't messed w it much to zone in a useable tone but it seems barley useable. Flat, muddy, and just blah sounds nothing like the speaker.
