Product Features

Infusing the esteemed semi-hollow design with Fender’s latest innovations, the American Elite Telecaster Thinline is for the 21st-century guitarist who embraces innovation in both instrument design and their own playing. Genuine and amazingly flexible Thinline tone, the latest technologies and classic Fender style work in harmony to create an easy-playing instrument you won’t want to put down.

The foundation of the American Elite Series sound, the new 4th generation Noiseless pickups, combine authentic, vintage-style sound with hum-free performance. The pinnacle of Fender’s noiseless pickup designs, they generate glistening cleans and fat, overdriven tones that scream with pure rock ‘n’ roll power. The new Elite Suspension Bridge with three intonatable brass saddles is a unique design engineered specifically for the Thinline Telecaster—a screwless mount increases the vibration transfer, driving the top for nearly endless sustain and lively response.

Engineered for fast playing and effortless position changes, the compound profile neck with a 9.5”-14” compound radius fingerboard is ideal for all playing styles. A modern “C”-shape at the nut, the profile morphs along the length of the neck to a modern “D”-shaped profile at the updated neck heel, providing plenty of comfortable support for fret hand antics. Locking, all short-post tuning machines provide increased break angle at the bone nut for buzz-free performance. The truss rod wheel is positioned at the butt end of the neck for easy accessibility when adjusting neck relief.

Fender is renowned for head-turning style, and this guitar is no different—from the lightweight, highly resonant Thinline semi-hollowbody design to the black chrome headstock logo and large pearloid fret markers this instrument will dazzle the audience with elegant style. The American Elite Telecaster is a bold new addition to the Fender family tree, a top-notch performer that can handle whatever music you might you throw at it. Includes a redesigned Elite Molded Case with TSA locks to provide increased protection for your cherished instrument.

I picked one up at the local store and immediately noticed the 3-saddle bridge, which was a terrible design from day one. Except Fender thought that this time they would be clever and split each of the saddles so the strings could be intonated individually. Good idea, but bad implementation. Most of the strings lay across a screw or right in a split where the saddle halves join, making them impossible to intonate and that bridge will be a huge source of string buzz. Owners will be looking to buy new a new bridge, which is totally unacceptable on a guitar of this price. Unfortunately Fender also installed an odd size bridge on it so you can look forward to having to drill holes in your guitar to install a new bridge. Also unacceptable.

I give this guitar a thumbs down.
Overall it's not a bad guitar. It played well and the neck felt just like a Tele should. It sounds like a Tele, looks like a Tele so we must conclude that it is a Tele. But it's just another Tele. I found nothing special about it to warrant the high price tag or to even entice me to buy one over a US standard or even the MIM Tele. Nothing on this guitar stands out as exceeding other Fender models. My conclusion is that is a nice guitar but seriously overpriced, and you can do better buying a cheaper model.

.It is a Fender and noticeable lighter. Great sound.

.This guitar is perfectly awesome. The bridge intonates well. I am leaving this review because the reviewer who picked this guitar up for two minutes and left a 2 star review is an arrogant fool who is wrong about the poor bridge design. They should really take his ill-informed review down in my opinion. I love this guitar and there's literally nothing I'd change about it.

.Have played in night club bands of up to 450 people. Have had teles for thirty yeas. The American Elite Thinline with the S1 switching give a wider vocal range of the thinline. All three saddle bridges have some intonation issues. The compensated saddles of the Elite get closer to true intonation than any other three saddle bridge guitar. Love how I can expand on the sound with the noiseless 4 series pickups with S1 Switching. Love the neck. the transforming from a c to a d Locking tuners.
