The previous reviews are wrong, this guitar is not neck through, check the description. Just because you can't see a crease where the neck attaches doesn't mean it is a neck-though guitar. I downgraded the quality and and value because there is a horrible buzz at the nut on the G string. I've done just about all I can. I think the nut needs replaced. I'm actually kinda pissed about it b/c I always tell everyone not to purchase a guitar without playing it, and what do I do, purchase one w/o playing it, and what do you know, a super annoying nut buzz that had I known existed, I would've never purchased the guitar

.Man this is a sweet guitar. Ive been wanting a seven string since 1999 when when I was listening to korn. I dont play none of that kraft cheese factory stuff now days. Ive been playing schecters for 3 years now and they have treated me good. I got everything i ever wanted on a guitar locking tuners, locking bridge, neck through, beautifull mahogony body, and of course 7 strings. Ill be getting an 8 string soon you watch when 7 isnt enough. this guitar is great for the price there is no better. This guitar plays like a dream, mine came in the mail already set up, i didnt have to make any adjustments. Thanks, God for talent he gave me, Schecter for guitar and thanks Custom Guitars friend for having it in stock when i had the cash

.This is my first Schecter and I must say I absolutely love it. The C-7 feels fantastic to play, sounds great, and looks great. I got it about 2 weeks ago and since then have not been able to stop playing it. I love everything about it. My only minor complaint is that the neck is a little bit too thick for me, but it makes for good practice. If you can play on a thick neck you can play on anything. Overall fantastic guitar I would recommend it to anyone thinking of buying it. Although pricey, it's great value for the money.

.This guitar is excellent. [$] is a little much but its worth the quality you're getting. I had originally got this guitar in a trade. BC Rich Warlock for a Dean 7 string Vendetta for an RGR320ex for an ESP LTD KH202 for a Dean Razorback for an Ibanez RGA72QME and lastly for a Schecter C7. payed 100 bucks for a warlock. Payed basically 100 bucks for a neck thru 7 string.ANYWHO, this guitar is amazing for low tunings such as A standard and Drop G. .This guitar is no Ibanez by any means. I am a hardcore Ibanez fan and always will be, i own 6 Ibanez's. But i would definitely recommend this guitar for anybody that wants more tension for lower tunings.

.The C7 Hellraiser has quickly become one of my favorite guitars. It's my first 7 string, but I'd been looking at them for a while. I've tried different Ibanez 7s, and none of them felt right. The necks were too thin, stock pickups were muddy, etc. I own other Schecters and have had extremely good luck with them. The C7 Hellraiser is an incredible versatile guitar. The EMG 707 pickups allow for warm, rich overdrive tones, bell-like cleans and the most intense distortion imaginable. The coil-taps allow for even greater range of tones, making this guitar capable of filling the roles of many guitars at once. The low B string is very round, rich and doesn't flop around like some B's do. The Schecter locking tuners keep the guitar perfectly in tune. All of the workmanship feels spot on. The factory set up was great, the frets are extremely well dressed, pickup height is great, everything feels solid and secure. The finishes are especially beautiful. I purchased one with the black cherry finish from a local dealer, and pictures do not do the finish justice. The depth of color is beautiful, and the abalone binding adds a nice visual pop.I think this is one of the best 7 strings in it's price range. The quality of workmanship and components that Schecter uses, combined with the reasonable prices make their guitars some of the best values around. I highly recommend this guitar, whether you play jazz, rock, progressive or metal. The C7 Hellraiser will provide everything you need.

.I have played around with 7-strings alot, but this one is AMAZING. The first thing I did was tune it to drop A, and this thing get so low but still plays clear. I played some songs by Suicide Silence, Whitechapel, and Impending Doom, and I'll just say that they sounded amazing! I will definitely be purchasing this guitar when I get enough money.

.I bought it used from a music go round and it is by far my favorite guitar. I really feel that guitars are all preference. it realy depends on the music you want to play. If you like playing metal then this is the guitar for you.

.Overall, I honestly say this guitar, the Schecter Hellraiser C7, gets a 10. I was skeptical about the pickups when I bought it, as there are a lot of reviewers on sites who immediately change them out for others, but these EMG 707-TWs are tight and defined to my ears, and I prefer them to the EMG 81/60s on my ESP EC-1000. There really isn't a huge difference in sound, except the lows are a little tighter with the EMG 707-TWs that come on the Schecter. I was reading about different pickups to replace them with before I bought the guitar, but that's another 200 bucks I don't need to spend because these sound great. The only two issues I can see are that Schecter does not sell replacement parts, creating an extra hassle if you should need some, and the volume drops too much when the single coil sound is activated. Did I mention there is plenty of room in the area of your picking hand so you are not accidentally bumping volume knobs or fighting for the room to palm mute? It's a great guitar.
There are a few features worthy of praise on my newly purchased Hellraiser C7. First, I really like the through body strings. With no backstop tailpiece there is one less piece of hardware to worry about. The locking tuners are also excellent, and after stretching the strings a bit, you better believe the guitar stays in tune. The extra wide jumbo frets are great for me, and really cleaned up my sound because now my fingers don't accidentally touch strings I don't want them to. The guitar has a very long neck and, the nut and bridge came filed wide enough for me to drop the next size up strings on without having to do anything. I moved the strings up from the 10-56 that come on the guitar to 11-58 (7 String Power Slinkys) with no problem. Just a slight raise in the action, and the guitar's intonation did not suffer one bit. Now, I play in drop A and it doesn't get flabby at all. I don't even need a setup. The push-pull volume knobs are great. The cleans sound amazing when the single coil sound is activated by pulling up on the volume knob. They tuly shimmer. There is a drop in volume when the single coil sound is activated, but since I use the Spider Valve MK II, I just set the channel volume for my clean channel a little higher, and no volume drop occurs. I could see where the single coil volume might drop off too much withhout this ability, but since the high gain stuff sounds better to my ears with the guitar volume rolled off a little, one could simply roll the volume back up when the single coil sound is engaged.
I've only played the guitar for about 6 hours now, but the quality is obvious. There is no loose harware, no string buzz, and the paint job is flawless with no blemishes to speak of. It's a beautiful guitar.
You'd better believe getting this guitar for under 900 bucks is a value. The problem is, if you go to Shecter's website, you'll notice that if you do break something on it, they don't sell replacement parts, only entire guitars. I gave it a 9 instead of a 10 on value for the extra hassle you will need to go through to replace parts by having to shop around instead of just going straight to Schecter.

.Sound:
I got it used so it came with different pickups, mine came with 81-7/60-7 and these pickups scream! and the guitar sounds good unplugged as well. it is very versatile and doesn't make the 7th string sound horrible, it tightens it up and when on clean, it doesn't sound so flubby and bassy.

Neck:
Feels and plays amazing! the neck feels really nice despite the gloss, it is easy to get around quickly and efficiently.

The extra jumbo frets really do assist in solo work and in vibrato and as well in bending soulfully.

the 26.5" scale length is something to get used to and I am still getting used to it, but it is honestly amazing, I will never buy another 7 string below 26.5" scale.

Body:
Not heavy at all, which I love since my back gets sore quick and this helps out A LOT! but it doesn't feel cheap either.

the finish on it is amazing! (I have the gloss black one) and is flawless. the bridge feels really nice, and the knobs/controls are out of my way completely which is a massive bonus to me.

Schecter also did a really good job on the abalone binding on the body, it looks amazing and compliments the black very well.

Looks:
INCREDIBLE EYE CANDY! this body shape looks super sleek and makes you wanna play super fast shreddy stuff (I am a rhythm player so I play super fast rhythms on it) and it just looks amazing.

Overall:
it is a work horse, and feels amazing, plays amazing, looks amazing...

the sound is very versatile and I know the usual 707 are also since I have used those on my friends schecter so I feel like they are the most versatile active pickup made. I can get some nice bluesy tone (eric clapton yes I said it) all the way to metallica (since you know EMG pickups right?) and even to Suicide Silence and it all sounds amazing!

Nice weight, the neck isn't heavy and I love the locking tuners on it... I haven't tuned this guitar since I got it. (a week ago) other then to switch from Drop B to Drop A...

.I played this seven string while I was visiting Bakersfield,Ca in a guitar center and it was amazing!!! I fell in love with it. The neck is so comfortable that I forgot I was playing a seven string. It's a bit wierd though but I'm sure if i owned it I'd get used to it fast! I will buy this guitar since I'm a strict B.C.Rich, Schecter, and Ibanez user.
