Portable, yet capable of producing an astonishing 131dB SPL, the DXR10 10" Active Speaker's compact, functional design makes it ideal for a wide range of applications, including as a floor monitor or main speaker. Whether comprising a compact SR system or providing simple vocal / instrument amplification, the onboard mixer eliminates the need for an external mixer - without compromising sound quality and power. Its rigid cabinet design reduces distortion and the FIR-X tuning ensures accurate response.

DXR Series Breakdown
Performance runs in the family, and like the acclaimed DSR Series before it, DXR Series loudspeakers offer superb high-definition sound and class-leading sound pressure levels-yet in a more compact and extremely functional design for more diversity. The DXR Series loudspeakers are perfectly suited for front-of-house sound, monitors, simple amplification, rigged applications and more. Combining the series with 's newly designed DXS subwoofers (sold separately) will further elevate your system's performance, giving you wider control of its thunderous bottom end. With the perfect balance of raw power and innovative speaker technologies, you can depend on DXR Series speakers to deliver the full power of your performance to every member of your audience.

The Power of "D"
's development team took full advantage of a number of advanced digital technologies, both new and refined, based on 's extensive experience accumulated over many long years of developing professional audio equipment. Everything from the detailed management of crossover, EQ and time alignment to the limiter settings, protection functions and precise dynamic control of the sound, was subjected to endless simulation, in-house and field testing to ensure that these speakers produce the highest level of sound quality at the highest output levels possible. Combined with 's advanced analog signal processing and acoustic technologies, the "Power of "D" delivers ultimate performance.

Ultra-Precise 48-bit DSP Processing for High-Definition Sound
All full-range models feature 's proprietary FIR-X tuning utilizing linear phase FIR filters for the crossover network. FIR-X tuning simultaneously optimizes frequency and phase response while adjusting the time alignment between the HF and LF transducers. This creates a very smooth response around the crossover point, providing much better clarity and imaging than what is possible with typical crossovers.

All signals are precisely processed by a 48-bit (76-bit accumulator) high-performance processor for high-definition sound quality. All full-range models employ high-precision 24-bit discrete A/D and D/A converters with superior S/N ratio and dynamic range.

Intelligent Dynamic Control for Consistent Clarity at Any Output Level
D-CONTOUR is an intelligent multi-band compressor that gives you powerful and consistent sound throughout all output levels. By constantly monitoring the output of multiple frequency bands and calculating the optimum EQ adjustments for each, even the maximum sound output maintains outstanding clarity and musicality.
With the DXR Series, D-CONTOUR provides a more detailed tuning of your sound with two different settings: FOH/ MAIN mode or MONITOR mode. FOH/MAIN mode boosts low-frequency to compensate for low-end that is typically missing when speakers are used in suspended applications or mounted on a speaker stand. MONITOR mode is completely optimized for floor monitor application by intelligently taming down the low-frequency that adds up due to floor reflection, smoothing out a wide range of frequency bands to give you stunning clarity for monitoring your sound. Both of these presets were perfected by performing countless listening tests with skilled sound engineers, giving you a multi-band compressor that performs dynamically, delivering consistent sound with low distortion at any output level.

Extensive DSP Protection Functions for Maximum Output
In a typical system comprising passive loudspeakers, power amps and signal processors, trying to set optimal parameters for each component can be a daunting task. One of the advantages of active loudspeakers is that the combination of transducers and amps can be perfectly optimized. During the development of the DXR series, measured and tested the durability of each transducer and the overall amp output through countless indoor and outdoor listening tests. Based on the test results, they were able to set the optimal limiter point for each model using precise DSP control.

In addition to the optimal limiting, these speakers employ many of the same protection functions used in their top-class TXn Series professional power amplifiers. A microprocessor and high-power DSP monitor the status of the power supply, power amplifiers, transducers and ongoing signals to protect all aspects of each component. As a result, these speakers can perform to their full potential while ensuring reliable operation in even the most severe conditions.

High-Efficiency 1100W Class-D Amplifiers
All DXR Series loudspeakers are equipped with highly efficient Class-D amplifiers that were optimally designed to match the DXR's HF and LF transducers. These high-performance amplifiers deliver the highest sound output in their class with 1100W of power, producing an impressive SPL. They also provide very fast attack and superior transient response, which greatly contribute to these speakers' incredible audio performance.

Universal Switching-Mode Power Supply
The DXR Series employs an all-new, high-efficiency switching-mode power supply for its outstanding performance. The power supply is also suitable for use worldwide with its multi-voltage design.

Intelligent Onboard 3-Channel Mixer
The DXR Series features a flexible onboard mixer with a variety of input, making it ideal for simple vocal/ instrument amplification. With its flexible IN/OUT, the DXR Series can comprise a full sound reinforcement system, or seamlessly integrate into a setup utilizing DSR or DXS Series speakers.

Versatile Mic and Line Level Input Capability
The DXR onboard mixer can handle up to three simultaneous inputs. It accepts both Mic and Line level input, giving you the flexibility to connect to a variety of sources from microphones to line level instruments and portable audio devices. When in MIC position, an HPF is automatically activated to roll off unwanted low frequency.

Smart Mixing / Linking Function
Each channel has an individual volume control, letting you mix three discrete audio sources. THRU out passes the input signal from Channel 1 and LINK OUT sends mixed signal from all channels-ideal for daisy-chaining or routing the signal to another destination. LINK OUT is very useful for configuring a compact SR system with another DXR, while LINK MODE allows you to easily switch between stereo or dual-mono configurations.

Custom-Designed DXR Transducers
All DXR Series transducers were meticulously selected and thoroughly customized to deliver ultimate performance. The detailed characteristics and behavior of each transducer was fully analyzed and evaluated with sophisticated computer simulations in order to help realize their full performance potential. The high power output woofers deliver very low distortion and defined, deep bass, while the 1.4" precision compression drivers produce accurate midrange and high frequencies up to 20kHz.

DXR Wide Dispersion Constant Directivity Horn
The HF transducer is mounted to an all-new 90∞x 60∞constant directivity horn, designed with the goal of minimizing radiation pattern deterioration in oblique directions as more conventional horns are prone to doing. This can help to achieve a more ideal coverage area without irregularities. With the new wide dispersion constant directivity horn, sound expands in a more rectangular pattern providing 90∞ horizontal x 60∞ vertical coverage, with wide-frequency sound projected to the edges of the coverage area.

Durable, Compact ABS Enclosures
Full-range models are moulded in rugged, non-resonant ABS enclosures and are designed to dampen down vibrations caused by high-output levels, producing less distortion and superior sonic quality. The road-tested enclosures are equipped with heavy-duty steel grilles and ergonomic, gripped aluminum handles that greatly improve durability and portability.

Dual-Angle Polemount Socket
Depending on the venue, sometimes your mix can fall prey to low ceilings or other room attributes that can impede a clear, even mix and detract from the audiences' listening experience significantly. The DXR's polemount socket offers two positions (0∞ and 7∞) to direct the acoustic energy away from reflective surfaces and on to your audience where it belongs.

Rigging Points for Standard Eye-Bolts and Optional U-Brackets
DXR Series loudspeakers come equipped with rigging points, allowing for rigged application with standard eyebolts (not included). When more versatility is required, optional U-brackets allow simple and easy rigging in both horizontal and vertical configurations.

I'm a keyboard player who was looking for an amp system for small to mid-size gigs that would also serve as a monitor in larger venues. running 2 boards, a digital sax, and on occasion a sound module or two this speaker fit the bill, powerfull and crystal clear with a variety of inputs. Surprising lows and great arial projection. Using one speaker with no mixer I played a mid=size room of 200 plus people using a keyboard acompaning a choir with settings at 4 o clock and was heard with plenty volume left. Using this speaker with a mixer provides unlimited capabilities

.I replaced my passive JBL EON 1500 with two DXR10's. I have a two-man acoustic / vocal act and wanted two active speakers that were powerful and light weight. I went to a Guitar Center and listen to the (QSC) K10's and actually liked the DXR10's better. These are a great value, plus has a six year (online) warrantee.
Yamaha DXR10 10" Active Speaker
.I purchased this along with a K10 to compare. Both are very lightweight and sound good, but the side handle on the QSC adds convenience if you're mobile.

The DXR10 doesn't have as low of a bass extension as the K10, but this is irrelevant if you're using subs. I don't expect a pair of any 10" speaker to do much bass for DJ use, but it's nice to have QSC's DEEP switch if you're using them at home.

The DXR10 had slightly fuller mids, especially low mids, but fell just short of the K10's clarity and highs. It's a great speaker, but the K10's frequency output sounds broader to my ears, and projects better, even if it's not quite as full. I've used the K10 as a stage amp for keys, and it sounded fantastic, especially considering it was right next to drums.

The DXR10's high frequencies don't get as harsh at high volumes as the K10, although the mids tend to be a little more pronounced. If the two's strengths could be combined into one, we'd have the perfect speaker for the price.

This is a great speaker- powerful, full, but lacks the overall clarity, projection and deep bass of the K10.

You have to really listen for yourself as everyone's ears are different. QSC's projection and clarity won me over, but I appreciate the slightly warmer too.

If you're planning on having these longterm, it may be worth looking into the next tier of speakers (DSR, KW, EV's new ETX comes with a 10" if you need a smaller cabinet).

The DXR10 is a great option for the price, but the K10 gets the win by split decision.

.We've all been there before - the speakers sound great when you play pre-recorded music, but when the band takes the stage you can't hear the vocals. Wood boxes almost always sound great, but plastic ABS boxes really seem hit and miss. I've used K12's before and they sound awesome for a DJ, but used with a rock band they just don't cut it. The DXR's go above and beyond for this application. DSR12's are even better, but if you need something smaller and a little lighter, proceed without fear! Stage monitor or FOH these cut through the mix. If you need to run a full band (kick and bass) then you will need a sub, but for a small bar gig playing as background music where you just have vocals/acoustic/keyboards... these will put a smile on your face!
Yamaha DXR10 10" Active Speaker
.This speaker is dark. Turn on the D-contour and this thing gets very bass heavy. It's kind of amazing how much bass this thing can crank out. The top end is very smooth and not harsh at all. The mids are prominent without being overbearing but this speaker has an obvious scooped mid.

It gets noisy if you are using improperly grounded equipment. Using a cellphone with the RCA jacks is probably the noisiest use case. If you are using line level equipment then don't even worry about noise. You can crank the amp with no inputs and there is no audible noise floor from the amp.

It gets the job done and efficiently at that.

.As an experienced sound tech, I'm always looking for good quality, light and compact speakers that are easy to haul around. I'm way out of the whole powered vs unpowered speaker quality reliability thing, the truth is that for the money you spend on a powered speaker there is no unpowered one that can match it, it would take top of the line amps, speaker processors and a lot of time to set up.
Just received one speaker to try it out and wow...this speaker is compact and powerful! Was able to use it only for ipod playback so far. It was clear and precise, think of studio monitor clear, bass was good and ample for a 10" woofer but for real deep clear bass a separate subwoofer is needed. I drove the speaker to about 97% of its max output and there was no clipping sound or apparent distortion. I've heard QSC's HPR distort at 75%, granted that it was using cheap behringer mixers. Would deffinetly buy another one. This is a slam dunk by , it could be a little bit lighter tough .
Yamaha DXR10 10" Active Speaker
.Good speakers if you only use the XLR inputs. the 1/4 inch inputs are noisy - with a loud hum. Can't even be used as monitors if you have to use the 1/4 inputs. These are a disappointment. I had to get a 1/4 to XLR adapter from the dealer where I bought these - as he also realized this was a problem.
Yamaha DXR10 10" Active Speaker
.Do not hesitate to buy these! I use them nearly every weekend for vocals only in small bar band... not only do they provide an amazingly clear and tight vocal sound, but they also put out great low end for music in between sets! It's really surprising! My wife also uses this as her keyboard monitor. She's never been able to hear herself better. They have never left the house without cases... as with any plastic speaker, I'd imagine that they'd scratch. To me, these provide a better sound than the k10.
Yamaha DXR10 10" Active Speaker
.Purchased two of these - mainly to use as floor wedges. Really 'cuts thru' the stage volume to bring clear, natural sound to the hearer! Loved them so much I picked up two DXR-8's (for FOH) & just got two DBR-10's for extra floor wedges. REALLY got it right with the DXR (& DBR) series
Yamaha DXR10 10" Active Speaker
.This is an amazing little speaker! I needed 4 monitors to go across the front of the stage that were clear and loud enough for indoor/outdoor events. I bought these monitors and was shocked how loud they were! Since they are powered, I can daisy-chain whichever speakers I need to make FOH mixing easier. They have a built-in EQ switch that allows the speaker to run as a FOH Speaker or Monitor. I didn't have the money to put an EQ on these at the time, but with this switch I don't need to. They would also be good for an acoustic act. It has 3 built-in channels that is perfect for vocals, acoustic, and a track. I have been a JBL guy, but has come a LONG way in their speakers.
