My son has been playing the YCL-650 for 3 years (he just completed his Sophomore year in high school). The progress he's made has been amazing (he made his all-state band this year). The tone on this horn is deep and rich. It's a pretty good alternative to moving all the way up to the professional-level horns other manufacturers make (that cost about twice as much).Yamaha YCL-650 Bb Clarinet
.This is a wood product with a very rich warm tone. Comes with a reed (kind of Hard but will mellow after playing) hard case, cork grease, a cleaning cloth and even a soft case that has a zipper for music and assessories. Key action is fantastic and pads seat consistently. This clarinet is to be played for only 1/2 hour at a time for the first two weeks...presumably for the wood as the moisture and temparature elevating to quickly could crack the instrument.
