The original idea for the EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar was to create a somewhat lower-priced Paul by dispensing with some cosmetics. The result was an especially clean, handsome guitar with all the Les Paul essentials. Newly designed in 2004, the Studio now has a thicker body that matches its namesake, hot open-coil humbuckers, a set mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, and mahogany body with carved top. Alpine White finish. The LockTone stopbar tailpiece and Tune-O-Matic bridge provide great sustain and tone, and make string changing easier. Limited lifetime warranty.

The fretboard was super scraped up and scratched, looked like it had been sitting in a garage for 3 years and chewed on by rats.

Other than that, aesthetically it's beautiful.

It has terrible fretbuzz and the craftsmanship and quality control is just unacceptable.

This is the second new EE-Epiphone-e that a friend and I have purchased within a month of each other that required "set up" upon delivery mine is the Les Paul Studio, his is the Les Paul Melody Maker). Both models needed immediate fret work because the frets were longer than the necks were wide by about a sixteenth of an inch on each side (my friend received several nasty cuts before taking a file to the frets). EE-Epiphone-e warranty rep at EE-Epiphone-e stated that they consider this normal user "set up" WHICH COST ME AN ADDITIONAL SETUP FEE TO HAVE DONE! I have bought MANY new guitars and NEVER have had required service to make it playable. There is also a flaw in the stain on the neck of mine. Even my Custom Guitars Friend rep was surprised at EE-Epiphone-es quality control. Sad to buy ANYTHING new and have to have it "fixed" at your own expense before it is usable.

.I got this a few days ago and was so pleasantly surprised by it's quality. I thought I would be getting a few notches down from my beloved LP Standard, but no... this thing looks, plays, and feels just as nice and comfortable as that and sounds even better to me. The stock pickups are amazing and it really feels like you are playing a high end Gibson. Do yourself a favor if you are browsing around for an EE-Epiphone-e Les Paul... BUY THIS ONE. Doesn't matter what color you get, but definitely give this one a chance. You will be very pleased!

.This is my second Epi LP and I am going to purchase a third. My first, I replaced all the electronics and installed Gibson 57 Classic in the neck and 57 Classic plus in bridge. I purchased this guitar and was going to replace the electronics and pickups with blues pickups, but after plugging in and playing, I have abandoned this idea as I love the sound of this guitar, very surprised. I will purchase another studio, worn cherry this time and will change those pickups so as to have three different sounding guitars. All my Fender and Gibson guitars have remained in their stands as I love both of my Epi LP's and can't believe the feel and tone. The first LP, I had to set-up as intonation was off, small matter. This guitar was playable right from the box!! I highly recommend this guitar, especially if you are handy at soldering and want to change pickups for different sounds.

.I love the guitar, but...

The fretboard looks like it has been chewed on by a rat. The entire thing is totally scraped and scuffed up. I was very very upset when I opened up the packaging and it looked like I just bought a 50$ garage sale used for 3 years guitar.

Very, very upset. The quality control needs to have a serious, SERIOUS overhaul because this IS NOT acceptable.

I bought a EE-Epiphone-e studio in 2009 (mine is the faded natual finish model), it's now my main guitar after upgrading all of the electronics to seymour duncan pickups, CTS pots, .047 paper in oil caps, cloth push back wires, and a switchcraft jack and 3 way wired 50's style. I would stack the tones I get against any gibson les paul.

.I have had this guitar for a few years now, and it has held up pretty well for all the strife I put it through. It has a good feeling neck profile, not unlike that of a Gibson LP. I typically don't like this chunkier, rounded neck shape, but on this guitar it just works for me.

The guitar is tonally versatile just with its stock pickups. You can obtain any type of tone you want with a decent amp and some tweaking. I have achieved heavily distorted electrifying metal tones and sweet shimmering cleans with no problem whatsoever. The dense mahogany really does give the guitar a nice, full-bodied tone.

The only issues I have had with it are the switch and the nut. The switch stopped working correctly after a year or so of use, but it was easily replaced and hasn't given me problems since. The nut had a chunk break off on the low E string side, but I simply glued it back together and it has held up pretty good since.

Overall, I would suggest this guitar as an affordable, worthy alternative to a Gibson LP. With a few modifications one could make it a better instrument, but it is pretty solid and sounds good fresh out of the box.

.What a work of art. The white is just dazzling to look at. I paired this up with a Line 6 spider 4-15 amp and it is sweet and smooth, or harsh and biting, whichever you prefer. I love it.

.This is a reall, really great guitar, it was my first electric and it has served me well since I bought it, never had any problems, it hold it's tune very well, the pickups in it sound fantastic. It suits just about every musical style in my opinion. It is an all around good buy if you're looking for a good electric guitar on a budget.

.This is a great guitar for someone who is on a budget or is playing at an intermediate skill level. it feels great, sounds great, and looks great. Because it is a Les Paul you will not have access to the higher frets, but that will be the case with any Les Paul. It's heavier than a Strat, but lighter than some other Les Pauls so its more bearable in longer gigs. Get a case for this guitar because it is one that you will want to keep safe.
The neck on this guitar is AMAZING. It feels great and only gets better with age. The pickups have a good top end but can still hit those beefy bottom end sounds. The rythm pickup is smooth while the treble pickup is brighter and sharper. To get the best sound, don't have the pickup selector in the middle, or else it sounds a llittle muddy.
Still in great shape after a year. Stays in tune, good sustain. The alpine white finish is gorgeous. This was a guitar that was ready to go right after I took it out of the box; I just had to adjust the intonation, thich is a pretty easy job.
Amazing price. The Gibson Les Pauls are great, but for someone on a budget it can be dificult to come up with the 2 grand for one. This is a steal for what you get.
