Well built and thought out. Tracks really well without a lot of tweaking. No software CDs or DVDs included. All software and manuals have to be downloaded. Several gigabytes need a fast broadband. No support for XP. Hardware synths need other purchases to not use a computer. It was a little confusing to set up, but well worth the effort if you're in to midi guitar. I play a GR-30 every weekend and this tracks much faster than it or the GR-55.

.I thought finally midi for guitar without needing a special guitar. And it's wireless, too. What a disappointment when key components weren't in the package. I could have worked around missing chargers and cables as mini USB is being used. The missing registration card stopps me from accessing any software. MF is trying to help but after weeks of spending some hard earned cash I am still not up and running with no committed delivery date in sight.

.I've owned this unit for a week and still can't get the the 3rd party software to function properly. I'm running Mac OS 10.8.3 on an i5 Mac Mini. It's disappointing because I waited so long for this unit to finally be released as it was delayed multiple times. I can see the IK Multimedia and NI software was intended to be a teaser, with the intention being you will purchase the fully-featured, full-priced software once you see the potential. And there is a lot of potential with this unit, provided you pay for the software. No DVD is included, everything has to be downloaded. I haven't even downloaded the Notation software as downloads take forever. But, hey, its free. Registration needs to be done with each different software company which is time consuming. But I like the unit. It's fantastic. It was easy for me to install on my Fender Strat. And it does work as stated. Wireless is nice. GUI is really pretty and easy to navigate. It also somehow knows what fret you're on when you finger notes. It's got potential.

.The unit had to be replaced and it took a long time to get to me. The tech's were great. Some sounds were taken off my MacBook pro and the tech stated: I will try but they are not part of the original package. So I did not call back. If you don't buy an extended warranty Custom Guitar's Friend says Sorry.

.I guess I have to qualify myself as someone who works with very complicated software every day...

When it works, the pickup is great. As an interface into your DAW there's no problem. But the software - which should give you all the incredible featues - is awful. It starts with the overly complicated and intricate sequencing to get the 3rd party smaples working first (and apparently the auto-install software puts the samples in the wrong location). Then there are error messages directing one to enter commands in places that don't exist. It works great as a midi interface but you have to have a lot of time on your hands to get the thing to work the way the demonstrators show it (that would not be me). You can run it in 64 bit mode, but half of the included samples do not work in 64 bit mode.

.I was concerned about ordering this because of reading reviews where people were missing parts or the registration card when they opened the box. Mine came without the Controller mounting pad. As I didn't want to go through the hassle of sending it back, I used a hot glue gun to secure the unit to the bracket. Custom Guitars Friend is awesome. Think twice about this product by mail order. The system actually works great but what good is it if you are missing important parts or the registration card?
Fishman TriplePlay Wireless Guitar Controller
.First of all the tracking is the best there is in the market currently. As others have stated you have to download all the software which is huge so you need a good fast Internet access. I had to try it on 3 guitars before I got the best fit installation wise but after I settled on which guitar it worked best on I was off and running. I haven't had this much fun on guitar in 20 years! Blending my regular guitar with strings and other midi instruments is truly addictive and makes playing regular guitar seem plain and naked. I'm really loving the notation notation software and am finally able to put my compositions into music notation. Amazing! All I want to do is play my guitar!
Fishman TriplePlay Wireless Guitar Controller
.Turns out the button on the controller was jammed on my first Tripleplay unit. One must press the reciever and controller buttons to connect and communicate. Once done the device does a great job, better than my other midi pickups.
Fishman TriplePlay Wireless Guitar Controller
.At first I dissed this product but after using it and finding out about the tripleplay wireless I have no reserve's about recommending it. The learning cure is kinda rough but if you stick with it the sounds you get from it are great.
Fishman TriplePlay Wireless Guitar Controller
.I'm really glad I purchased this. I have wanted MIDI functionality with a guitar before, but whenever I would demo units by the big R in stores, I was never happy with the tracking, and the cost was very high. This works really well for me. I have had some issues trying to get samples to load in the Fishman software, but I use Apple Logic and this works very well with the Apple software instruments, as well as many from Native Instruments. SampleTank was the one giving me trouble, but I know think it was all because the plug-in was 32bit and Logic only supports 64bit. I'm not 100% if that is al it was, but I have the current version of SampleTank now and everything works. I just got a Schector Blackjack with Sustainiac and was really looking forward to adding MIDI to that, since it already works well with my eBow. But the spacing between the Floyd Rose floating trem bridge and the bridge humbucker on the Schector Blakjack is too small for the MIDI pickup, so I'm going to have to remove or modify the pickup retaining ring. It fits perfectly in my Ibanez RG. I can't speak for potential technical difficulties different computers or software might have, but for me, other than a bit of frustration with some specific software, everything has worked, and I've been using it for over a year. Great battery life. I'm going to rig up some kind of velcro attachment or something for the USB thumb drive style receiver though, because if I don't attach it to the pickup base or my guitar, I sometimes have trouble finding it after forgetting where I last put it down.
