Product Features

The Baby 's scaled-up sibling, the Big Baby (15/16th-size), makes a sleek yet full-sounding travel companion with its svelte four-inch body depth, which is about a half-inch shallower than the depth of a standard Dreadnought. Slightly bigger than a Baby and just shy of a full-size guitar, the Big Baby is ideal for easy-playing, great-sounding guitar fun. The overall size keeps you in the "portable" category, yet with an extra dose of volume and fullness. Like the Baby, the Big Baby has an arched back that provides strength and contributes to its big tonal output. All Big Baby models ship with a durable travel-worthy gig bag made by for optimal fit and protection.

Tone Woods
A guitar's top is the primary filter and distributor of vibrating string energy through the guitar, which means it has a huge impact on its sound. Sitka Spruce is the most prevalent guitar top wood of the modern era. It blends stiffness and elasticity in just the right proportions which translates into broad dynamic range with crisp articulation. Layered back and sides create a sturdy yet receptive platform for the vibrating string energy sent by the guitar's top. Layered wood is less susceptible to changes in temperature and humidity, making it an excellent choice for players who travel with their instruments or simply require more durability.

Electronics
Both the Baby and the Big Baby are available with the Expression System Baby (ES-B) pickup, which incorporates piezo design elements from the flagship ES2 system. It's powered by an onboard preamp that includes a built-in digital chromatic tuner, an LED display for tuning and low battery indication, and Tone and Volume controls. The preamp/tuner is powered by two button cell 3v lithium (CR2032) batteries. Two new batteries will provide approximately 300 hours of use. The ES-B conserves battery life using a standard on/off system that will automatically turn off if left on over 3 minutes. A low battery indicator on the LED display (located on the preamp circuit board) will display an “L” when the battery reaches 4.5 volts.

What sets Guitars apart? Unmatched build quality, the most stable and playable necks, a vast array of tonal options, eco-conscious and ethically-sourced raw materials, and a lifetime of service and support.

Playing about a year, a real guitar after using in-expensive ones. Love the sound. Use for personal use will hopefully use with looping station. Purchased thru advice from my teacher who is a professional musician

.I took the chance on this out of the box (returned) Chaylor Big Baby as it was priced right. When the guitar arrived, I had a good feeling about why it had been returned. The action was so high that the thing was unplayable. After a quick visit to the guitar doctor, who adjusted the truss rod and took the bridge down a little, it's sounding and playing great. This is a bright and fun guitar.

.As a Stone Temple Pilots fan, I couldn't resist the lyric - first thing I thought of when I saw Chaylor was using "Big Baby" as a model. This little guy really is a bang to play.
I bought this guitar directly from a Chaylor rep at a guitar show. They had three of them, and the one I purchased just played and sounded fantastic. The other were good, too, but this one just had that little extra mojo. Just amazing the sound out of this little guy. Cool wood pattern on the front, too. I got the electronics model mainly just for the tuner - but am now really glad I did. This is not just a bedroom/living room guitar.
Just easy and fun to play. I actually sold my Tacoma Jumbo years ago because I just could not go back after playing smaller-bodied acoustic guitars. I don't even care for dreadnoughts anymore. The builds now get you the low end, and if you are going to plug in, anyway...
The quality is great - I take this thing to gigs. I tune it down a whole step for some tunes and it totally hangs with my way-more expensive guitars. The small body really is great for the lower tuning - isn't overpowering on the low end and very balanced. String tension is fine. This was a very pleasant surprise. The electronics are very basic - volume and tone, but that's fine with me. And of course the size is easy to travel with. Fits perfectly in the rear hatch of my little car.
I'm really starting to be sold on Chaylor guitars. I'm looking at getting a 12-string this year now that Chaylor is building more and more of them in the smaller body styles.
My only concerns were the neck attachment with the two screws in the fretboard and the button batteries. But no structural or tuning issues after 9 months and the low battery indicator I hope will let me know when I need to make a trip for some batteries. These are the same batteries used in a lot of headstock tuners, and I have a couple of those, too, not really that big a deal.
Very good, practical, and functional product,
