Finally Fender comes out with a tele that has just what I was looking for. Dual splitable humbuckers, a color combination (white with black 3 ply pickguard), and an affordable price. What was really impressive was the setup out of the box. Very playable and unlike MIM teles I've played in the past - great fret work, no glue run offs or other construction issues. It arrived set up better than my previous tele -a USA made 03 HWY1. Note that while the zebra pickups appear to be white and black in the pics and video, they are actually silver and black. Still look good with the white though.

Sound-wise the humbuckers are hot but do sound good. Like other split humbuckers, they do not sound exactly like single coils, but it's close enough. I will say that the pickups aren't necessarily the most dynamic - rolling off the volume and tone doesn't feel smooth. The volume and tone will seemingly not roll off much and then a big jump off. It doesn't seem very linear. It could be the pots or it could be the questionable soldering job. While the setup of the guitar is great, I think it's going to be necessary to touch up a few poorly soldered connections - particularly on the push-pull pot.

Bottom line: A great value, well setup and feature packed guitar from Fender.

.I wanted a humbucker guitar with the Fender neck, I prefer the longer scale and the 9.5 radius board over the shorter, fatter, thicker neck that's on my Les Paul. The pup's are hotter than those on my LP. They do sound good. I can back off the volume to about half to get some nice clean tones with plenty of attack. The saddles do not contribute to a lot of sustain, I may swap them out for Full Contact Babicz saddles.
I don't use the coil splitting, I bought this guitar for crunch and distortion. And it does that very well. I prefer the single coil tones of my American Standard Strat. When I do use clean tones on this guitar I like the warm humbuckers, it does the clean tones of a Les Paul very well but the coil split tones lack the sparkle and vibe of a good single coil Tele or Strat.
The fit and finish are excellent and the playability is very good. Not quite American Standard good, but still very good. Nice little Rockin' guitar.

.Other than some slight buzzing (Which was easily fixed) this guitar is a work of art for the price.

.Great lower price Telecaster - just a few spots with some fret buzz. Those spots can be adjusted out.

.I've had this guitar for about a year now, and I love it! Comfortable to play and sounds great. The sound suits a variety of genres. I mainly use it for hard rock. Coil split allows for a broader selection of tone, but I personally prefer the humbuckers. Holds tune well. Only con is a little bit of fret buzz. Great guitar, especially for the price!
