Product Features

In addition to all the boutique qualities and hot-rodded tones that guitarists have come to expect from the ValveKing series, the new generation line incorporates brand new cutting-edge features for recording and performing musicians. For the recording musician, the ValveKing features a USB-direct recording output, which pipes the miked amp vibe directly into a computer. On the rear panel, the built-in Peavey MSDI (Microphone Simulated Direct Interface) XLR direct interface eliminates the need for miking by allowing users to send the amp's signal directly to a recording device or mixing console.

With versatile tone for rock, jazz, or metal, the new generation ValveKings have the capabilities to create almost any sound imaginable. ValveKing's proprietary Vari-ClassTM knob enables guitarists to adjust the ValveKing's "class" characteristics, allowing for complete power amp type versatility. True to its name, ValveKing even includes the new TSITM tube-monitoring indicator that keeps you apprised of the health of your tubes!

ValveKing offers other high-end features, including variable power control, so you can tailor your output to your performance situation without compromising tone. With triple 12AX7s, two independent foot-switchable channels each with their own EQ, and the Vari-Class variable Class A/AB simulation control, the next generation ValveKing delivers massive amounts of completely customizable all-tube power.

Much improved on the original VK. The versatility is spectacular. Switch between 5/25/100 watts, XLR mic sim output, USB output, tube health monitoring, channel switching. I love this head; it sounds incredible and I can use it in any size venue or plop it on my desk and record with it. This one's a keeper. Peavey knocked it out of the park with this head.

.we all know that sometimes this will happen ,, i have two other peavey amps, classic 30, about two years and a wedge about 37 years no problems . but this one ? ??sent it back and went with another brand but that is not saying all peaveys are bad

.Overall, simple layout, nice connectivity via USB/XLR for recording and connecting to FOH. Clean channel is great and takes pedals well. Breakup isn't on par with Fender Deluxes but has enough to be mentioned. Distortion channel is useable to about 5. The rest is too fizzy. Made in China so assembly and components are underwhelming. Comes sub-par Ruby tubes and weak tube sockets. I needed to get warranty work done in about a year for bad tube sockets. Re-tubed with Sovtek power tubes and it sounds much better. T.S.I light indicators are not working properly, most likely a byproduct of weak tubes, sockets, and circuitry. Boost feature with footswitch is only noticeable at higher volumes. Attenuator switch is awesome but may wear out tubes faster.

I would recommend the micro more than this. This amp is LOUD! The connectivity makes it an awesome studio amp and 25 watts is very capable of smaller venues like bars and small clubs. With XLR out, this amp is definitely versatile for studio and live work.

.Old fashioned sound from a tube amp with a twist. Turn down the wattage with the flick of a switch and still have power to spare.
