Nice retro keyboard from the 1980’s. It contains the same synthesizer chip found in the original Ad-Lib and SoundBlaster cards from the early PC era. Inexpensive way to get the Yamaha DX sound, using a very simplified means of FM synthesis manual editing mode with six sliders to shape FM sounds. The SPECTRUM slider is akin to a DX's frequency setting. The MODULATION is more of a timbre/brightness control that renders the sound from dull to bright, which is almost like filtering. The ATTACK and DECAY sliders both control the characteristics of the envelope. There is also a VOLUME slider which controls the output level of the synthesizer section.
Lots of fun. Very easy to quickly get some wicked sounds by manipulating existing presets. If I had the room, I would be keeping it for personal use, but my DX100 has midi.
