Custom Hand-wired Early Run Fender '59 Bassman Reissue 1990 Tweed

In Jan. 1990 at the L.A. NAMM show Fender introduced it's first ever vintage reissue series of amplifiers based on what players deemed as the holy grail of Fender amps. Available by late Spring 1990 the '59 Bassman was chosen to have the honor of being the original Fender vintage reissue model. This particular amp is one of those "firsts of the firsts".
The inspection sticker and tube chart have a  code of "AG" indicating a July 1990 build date. The "oddity" of the earliest '59 RI's is that they have leather handles instead of rubber dogbone ones added later in '90. That makes this amp actually a '58 reissue not a '59! Fender had a delay from a subcontractor who was making the dogbones and Fender didn't want to wait so  they used available leather handles.
The best feature of this particular amp is the beautiful hand-wired circuit board. No PC boards to be found anywhere. Using top quality matched components this professionally crafted amp exhibits all the tone you can expect from a tweed Bassman. The speakers are the original blue frame alnicos that sound like the Jensen's of that era. The condition is excellent except for the slightest stains on bottom as shown. All else is perfect. The parts for the hand-wired circuit were purchased thru Hoffman Amps for $550. You can check their website to view exactly what components (brands and values) are used in their Bassman 5F6-A kit. All high quality. The work of hand-wiring the circuit was performed professionally ($480) and is a thing of beauty. I thought of getting a piece of clear plexiglass to cut out a replacement top back panel so the chassis could be viewed. Also included will be the solid state rectifier module that was supplied with this amp. This will give you a little less "sag" and a more modern tone. Really makes the '59 Bassman RI a versatile choice for recording professionals.
And Oh the TONE! This is what a tweed amp should sound like. Included will be a jumper cord to connect both channels for a variety of usable sounds. No master volume needed here.
Considering the cost of a '59 Bassman RI amp plus over $1K spent making it a "real" tweed Bassman the offering price is a steal. The fact that it is THE amp that started the whole retro/reissue craze in amplifiers of all brands that continues till today is a cool bonus!
