much better than that crappy Nano Clone. And the reason it pops louder than expected is because it's actually true bypass (which is a good thing!). other pedals aren't as audible because they continue to hang on and suck your tone even when you think they're off. duh.Electro-Harmonix Neo Clone Analog Chorus Guitar Effects Pedal Black, Blue
.If you are interested in experimenting with your sound, give this pedal a try. It has an honest, relatively versatile sound for an excellent price. This is not the T Rex Twister, people! It's a stripped-down, bare essentials chorus pedal. It can emit some white noise when active, which sounds like gentle surf at slower settings and like a distant helicopter at faster ones. However, in the context in which I use this pedal- the generation of lush, dizzy soundscapes- this is actually a plus. Depending on the position of the depth switch, higher settings can approach vibrato (when set on deep) and tremolo (shallow). All in all, the Neo Clone is a fun, relevant pedal that's about as easy to start playing with as Angry Birds.

.This pedal is perfect for a basic chorus pedal. It sounds great and is true bypass, which is great. For the price it is totally worth it. There are other pedals out there with more features and better quality but you will have to put out a few more dollars. Buy it if you want a simple chorus that sounds great.

.I had and used this pedal for about two weeks. It is a decent sounding chorus. My setup, however, requires more than just a depth switch and rate control. I would have given this pedal a better review if it had a level control. To me, this pedal seems to swallow the sound of the guitar's tone. Especially on a distorted channel. I have tried this pedal in an FX loop and in the guitar signal chain. In my opinion, it is too bold of a sound. If you are somebody who doesn't like spending the time to dial in a tone and wants to hear only effect, this pedal is for you.
It DOES sound pretty great on a clean setting though!

.I ordered this thing and put it on my pedalboard. I stepped on the switch and it "POPPED" so loud through the amp I think I jumped several feet. Also makes a noticeable "click" when switching it off.

.This is a nice thick sounding analog chorus that will allow you to dial in the classic tones of players like Andy Summers, Alex Lifeson and Johhny Marr, just to name a few. I prefer to use this pedal most with a clean to mildly overdriven tone, the rate knob set to about 12:00 and the depth switch turned off. This setting gives me a rich, lush sounding shimmer for strummed and arpegiated chord progressions. With the depth switch engaged (in the "up" position), you can nail the tone on "Come As You Are". I personally think a little goes a long way when it comes to using the depth switch. But, if you are into a more extreme "sea sick" vibrato tone, the Neo will happily deliver. Just make sure you have barf bag nearby ;)
I don't hear a difference between this pedal and the Small Clone. I believe the circuit is the same or close enough as to not make any real difference. After you plug the pedal in, the foot switch will "pop" when you first step on it, but then it won't do it anymore after that, at least in my experience. Also, mine was clipping when I used a moderate to heavy pick attack and playing through humbuckers. All I had to do was turn the internal trim pot counter-clockwise a little bit until I no longer heard any clipping. Problem solved! And, there was no change to the effect's fundamental tone.
For the price, it is hard to go wrong here. While short on features, this pedal is thankfully long on tone. Respect the Clone!

.I like everything about this pedal except the switch pop when first engaged. Nice chorus with the deep switch just nails what a chorus should sound like. To be fair the big brother Small Clone has the switch pop too.

.I've been using this pedal all of the time with the depth switch on. It adds movement to my sound without overpowering other effects. Even other modulation, like my EVH Phase 90. Great with OD and Fuzz too. No great volume drop when It's engaged, either.

.in my experience, it sounds as good as the small clone, its compact design allows to place it near everywhere on the pedal board. it has a nice warm sound with almost every setting. it works just fine with low frequencies. no gain lost at all.

.This pedal gives you a great Chorus sound. Its simplicity also makes it great, with just a depth switch and a knob for the rate of chorus you want. However, every time I turn the pedal on for the first time before i start playing, it makes a loud pop sound. Not sure why this is, but I have seen other reviews of people having the same problem. If the build was a little better, this would be a five-star pedal.
