Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top is known for big fat Texas tone that has been described as "hot, blue, and righteous." Dunlop developed Reverend Willy's strings in collaboration with Billy himself, aiming to make replacement guitar strings that offer a real punch and while remaining articulate and clear when guitarists perform his legendary leads and pinch harmonics.

These strings make playing much easier. I just ordered a few more sets because the bulk packs of Rogue strings don't have a few of the string sizes these have. I'll be converting all my guitars to the 8-10-12 sizes on the high strings, but may have to stay with the same lower end as regular 9 sets (24-32-42).Dunlop Reverend Willy's Electric Guitar String Set - Light
.Let me start out by saying that these are terrific strings. The tone and the clarity is better than the strings I have used in the past. I tried the eights Because like the Rev. Willy says "Why are you working so hard", referring to a heavier gauge strings. I have ordered 2 more sets of these strings but moved up to the 10's . I have always used heavier strings and play hard. I love the feel and tone of these strings so I believe the 10's will be better for my style of play. I will try to ween myself down from there a little at a time back to the 8's or dare I say it the7's. Great product! I would recommend these strings.

.I play a lot of classic rock style guitar, and these strings have great tone and feel. They work great for lead playing, and the lighter feel with a loud dynamic response encourages that. Definitely can get the ideal Billy Gibbons pinch harmonics going with these!

.the only other strings I've found that compare are the D'Addario XL Half Rounds, but the lightest of those are 8's. The 7's are like gossamer; I've been half afraid of breaking one, but that hasn't happened yet. On Dunlop's video for these strings, Billy Gibbons mentions he hasn't broken one yet.
