This subwoofer is great. We run ours with a 1200 watt RMS amp. You will need alot of power. 600 watts as recommended will not suffice. The only problem...although it is not the subs fault...you need two of these subs for a large room. one sub adds the essence of bass but no true punch. our synth sounds great coming out of this but from 50 yards away the kick drum is present but not aggresive sounding. even when we used a yamaha subkick. two of these would double the sound output and give you the punch you are looking for. of course you will need 2400 watts to truly make it sound good.

.I just ordered another SW118V. We've had one for a few months now and have been using it every weekend in my modern/alternative rock band. They bins are a great value. If you use a good power amp (2.5 to 3 times the program power of the cab) and a decent crossover, you'll have sub that give you the kick drum you can feel and the bass guitar they'll hear down the block. We also run a limiter to protect all our speakers and I highly recommend it.The one sub has been great for smaller bars but we need another for larger rooms and outdoor (deck/patio) shows. We just didn't have the money to buy 2 at once. Now we get compliments on our "big" sound and we have plenty of money coming in for a second sub.

.I have been in several bands and ran professional sound for 15+ years. I've used every PA subwoofer imaginable (EAW,JBL,Peavy, etc). I bought a pair of these to use for my side business(DJ/KJ/VJ show). I power them with a QSC RMX2450 bridged mono. I also run a pair of S115V tops with another QSC RMX2450 ran in stereo. I have used these at least 1 to 2 times weekly for 2 1/2 years. Never a problem and always sound great. Makes a great mobile system for bands also. I have used these for my band set-up when in small to medium venues. Sounds great!!! If you are looking for a portable sub for up to medium size venues at the best bang per buck, THIS IS IT!!!!

.These muthas can't be beat! During a gig, one of these speakers solder came loose, so we went with just one and just cranked the output a bit. You couldn't tell the difference. The only downfall: they're cold soldered and can't stand up to the rigors of steady gigging. You'll probably end up going in and soldering them yourself.

.These things are the best. I have used 2 of these units for over a year and they still hold up well. I am a western expat and own a DJ service in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. We move from place to place through all types of venues. These things still sound great. No rattle and no distortion at high watts. I will buy another set when needed.
