I just purchased the Tenor Recorder (YRT-304B) and I am very pleased with the Deep Tone that this instrument has. I own several wooden recorders and to be honest, the 300 series recorders sound better than the wooden recorders. At present, I own the Sopranino and I plan to order the Soprano and Alto to complete the set.

.I've been playing recorder most of my life, and have owned dozens of instruments. A friend suggested that I give this tenor a try. This instrument is an outstanding value for the money. It has excellent response, ample volume, lovely tone and climbs in the highest tone with ease. The split key design functions better than any other tenor that I've played. has succeeded in making a plastic recorder of superior quality that quite honestly holds it's own against many high end wooden recorder costing much more. I'm so impressed that I'm buying the other sizes (soprano, alto, bass) that they offer!

.I own this recorder as well as several others in the 300 series, and it has a wonderful reedy sound. has delivered a fantastic, quality product even though it is plastic, and at a fraction of the cost of a wooden recorder, you are getting an incredible instrument. It is easy to play and to maintain as are all of the 300 series recorders. If you are a beginner, it comes with a fingering chart, tenon lubricant, and a cleaning rod all packed nicely in a soft-sided case. Please check it out!

.This is a very well made instrument with good features and sound, but it is not a professional instrument. It is perfect for high school and college students. Very affordable, but still the price could be lower.

.I just love it, all of it. I happened to take my own time getting used to the wide fingering from the soprano recorder to the tenor recorder. I seriously love how it has a mellow sound. But, however, it does take a bit of time to get used to these big holes, as well as playing both the lower and higher register, because it gets a little frustrating at times, especially the amount of air pressure you need to blow in it, especially the placement of your fingers. But all in all, it's very responsive and has a sweet tone, especially the fact that it is well-manufactured and that it has a great price placed on it. I'm glad I actually bought this product since it's a nice change, for once.

But, I need to say that it would be more than convenient if they supplied it with a cloth, since that would make maintenance more convenient instead of having to go out and buy one from a local music shop or whereelse. Otherwise, the packaging was done right, and everything came to my house in one piece (or intact).

My personal advice to any aspiring musician, however, is to keep practicing and keep a really close eye on what you do when practicing, and to correct any errors you're making, especially the finger placement on any instrument. This will help you in the long run, especially on Baroque-era instruments like the recorder.

.Once again, has come through with one of the best sounding recorders I have ever played. The ease of assembling and maintaining the recorder is fantastic. The price is super. I have enjoyed every moment of playing it at home and look forward to performing with it in public.

.This is a wonderful recorder. It delivers the hollow, full sound that is destinctive of the tenor.

.I am incredibly pleased with the quality of this recorder. I use it in my recordings frequently. It produces a wonderful deep, clear sound.

.Packaged nicely for shipping. This comes with a nice simple but efficient case.

If you don't have long fingers, you may find it difficult on some of the fingerings to reach and still support the recorder. I didn't but my wife did.

Very nice sound and I suspect like all yamaha products they are very consistent in their construction.
